Aren't We OK At IOL For 2025?

QUESTION
Who has been lining up at LG other than Wilson and Strange?

I forgot Wallace.

Who would like us go into the season with Wallace as the backup LG?

Or perhaps you prefer Robinson who can't pass block?

Makes me wonder if Wallace as an OT is a thing of the past or if he is still considered an option at RT (although I have not seen any reports of him lining up there).

I will be, I suppose, happily surprised if Vrabel doesn't bring in some OL cuts from other teams for practice squad/shadow roster at the very least, if not right outright signing some. (That would mean he's completely happy with his current depth and I don't think he currently is.)

IMO you can NEVER have enough depth at OL and I'm not sure we have that yet. I think we've got a bunch of guys who could BE that depth but I expect that even into the next offseason, we'll see tinkering with the OL to get the most out of them, depending on who ca be added in free agency.

Bear in mind that they WANTED to address LT with a veteran, but were snubbed.

By next offseason they will be back to respectability and may be a preferred place for free agents to play.

It’s a lot easier to find serviceable interior guys as other teams’ final cuts in late August than OTs.

There’s serviceable interior line vets on the market right now. Risner comes to mind.

The IOL depth seems pretty good, but the ceiling of the starters is still a concern. Bradbury and Onwenu are a few seasons removed from their last good years.

IMO Nobody on the OL should be cut or traded this early. Still too many unknowns there and injuries happen. Redemption can happen too.

I would like some resolution to the hapless drafting of IOL the last few years. I've had high hopes for Strange, Sow and Robinson and all three are probable cut candidates. It should not be that hard to draft a guard. Yes you might miss here or there, but for the love of God. Hopefully we can plug an play through the draft on the IOL going forward. Jared Wilson has broken the streak.

Strange may not be physically able to play at his prior level
Robinson has 600 career offensive snaps, all as a rookie with inferior coaching. how do we know if he can or cannot play?
Sidy, in 2 seasons, has had 2 different OC's and 2 different OL coaches. He has been slotted into 3 different positions in 2 seasons. how do we know if he can or cannot play

Froholdt left here without having a chance. he played 98% and 99% of his teams offensive snaps the past 2 seasons. J Andrews looks like he will start for the Titans this season, with out getting his chance here.

I never understood not giving Jake Andrews another shot this year.

Andrews and Mafi are both practicing with the 1st team starters at the Texans and Raiders respectfully, so the draft choices were not necessarily poor.

Would think they’ll begin with 5 existing IOL on the team and add a 6th (Maybe? Hopefully?) going into the season..then let it see how it plays out and adjust if more musical chairs are needed.

Hopefully it’s not one of these adds in name only who then just hit IR immediately, retire (Schweitzer lol) and overall just never see the field.

IMO strange makes the roster as a reserve G, need depth. He probably won't ever be the same player after the injury. But need depth. 17 game season and once the 50 million dollar man Goodell gets his wish players will have likely 18 game seasons. Depth is paramount. Jake Andrews couldn't stay healthy enough to really make his mark here so good he's getting an opportunity in Houston.. it's utterly laughable that we may very well end up with 1 player left from the entire 2024 draft class..
