We gotta go get him (Tee Higgins)

Bourne, Boutte…. these are good #2s, our passing attack has just been substantially worse than Cinci’s. We don’t have Joe Burrow.
I'm out!!

On the fence here, depends what hes asking. If its in the 25m range id be in. Thats pretty fair for what he brings. $30m and above probably nah. Then Id look at darius slayton who will be much cheaper and might even be more of a need for us with his 4.39 speed.

Not overly concerned about the injuries. Most of the issues were the last 2 years in contract years. Players can be a bit more conservative with injuries before they hit the market and I don’t blame them. Lamar comes to mind in 21 and 22, hasn’t missed a game since due to injury.
No to Slayton No!!

Can we go back to the fact some poster had info that Javon Baker had a reading disability or was illiterate.
Can anyone substantiate that?

Boutte had 589 yards playing in 15 games in 2024 with nobody at WR2. I fully expect him to get 800ish yards in his 2nd year (I don't count his 1st year when the ball was thrown to him 7 times total) at WR2 with someone like Higgins at WR1. I don't think it's necessary to get 2 WR's who make over $20 M each. My 2 cents.

So we need 1 very good WR either in the draft, FA or trade and Boutte will be on the other side. I also think we need to draft a WR in rounds 4-7.

Lol really? How come?

I would gladly take him in under the assumption that we’re doing more at wr.
We want someone better: Maxed out Slayton is a #3 our Roster is loaded with those types. We need a very good #2 who can play like a borderline #1. I know someone like that called Tee Higgins.

One problem with Slayton is he sucks at catching the football. His career catch percentage is 56. That's worse then Nelson Agholor and Devante Parker. Even Boutte has a better percentage.

FWIW Chris Godwin's career catch percentage is 71.
Love Godwin but he's another injury prone option.

I've mentioned my lower teir targets of Greg Dorch and Tutu Atwell.

Sign him too.

You are concerned with the potential Higgins cap hit percentages? That's a problem I would like to have while we have a rookie QB.

Right now our highest paid player is a Guard. I mean come on, that's ridiculous. We have two players under contract that have a base salary of over ten million & four guys with a cap hit over 10 million... don't worry about what percentage of the cap a deal for higgins will take... based on our spending habits of late, we have plenty of percentages that can be passed around...

We either spend the money on players - or - Bob Kraft gets a new Bentley... I'd rather spend it on players... the time of being "fiscally prudent" is passed at least until we get back to competitive.

I have concerns about letting a player with Tee Higgins injury history who has never been a WR 1 a large percentage of our cap allotment. I don't give a rat's ass how much of Kraft's money he takes

If we do enough in fa to address the trenches another play could be slayton and tet at #4. Then at 38 should still be a starting quality dt, ot, or edge available.

I feel like even if we go after tee , godwin, or tet we still need a speedster.

He didn't make people in wheel chairs stand up: or make the blind recover their eye sight. One catch against scrubs for 10 yards is his only stat. IF he can't learn AVP's vanilla Offense he won't learn McDaniels: not holding my breath on this one.

We can't take Tet even though I wouldn't mind: gotta take Mason Graham if the others are gone. Check the draft forum we are scouting some Very Good Day 2 and 3 WR's and TE's.

i don't consider 15% max to be a large percentage in light of our current spending habits.

I do know we are in dire need of having a guy with his skill set.

In fact it would be a welcomed relief on both counts.

Don't like his injury history? just add game day roster bonuses to the deal. he plays, he gets paid a bonus. He doesn't play? he doesn't.

We can get Tee Higgins they are not going to tie up their cap in Two WR's. IF Wolf can offer the older Ridley that contract last year: he can do the same for the younger Tee Higgins. It's going to piss some off but they can cry me and Drake Maye a river.

You wanted JaLynn Polk, you didn’t want Drake Maye, and you wanted Calvin Ridley. How’s that working out for you?

Bro im still having ptsd on day 2 wrs i need some time before anyone can sell me on that! Ive heard the draft is pretty deep at dl and maybe ot towards the 30s so that might be the play at 38.

Hunter/carter/mason is my plan too but we’ll see how fa goes.

One out of Three ain't bad.

We will only sniff Carter and Hunter when they come for a visit...but we won't sniff em on Draft Day we have Mayo to thank for that.

I think this player in particular is going to command a contract that is going to be guaranteed. I agree he should be heavily incentivized, but some team is just going to back the the Brinks truck and shovel money at him, all while screaming...

Let me say this for the Record: Mike Vrabel and our New Brass will get us some Very Good WR's Starting in this Draft and onward. You can always find good WR's in the Draft: but the BB steng @ WR rubbed off on Elliott Wolf. Glad Mike brought in his own guy.

Jaylynn Polk is the only WR Wolf drafted, and a certain poster here, Patsfan2 I believe, posted in the draft forum that he really liked JayLynn Polk.
