We gotta go get him (Tee Higgins)

He's probably the BPA that's under 30 and not named Higgins or Godwin. I'd kick the tires on Elijah Moore as well. 24 years old, been reasonably productive for chitty teams. He's probably the same as who is in the WR room already, but there's likely going to be a big change in personnel with this regime. Hopefully, anyway.

So much on FA WRs is can they keep up with JMcDs packages.

Part of me suspects we may be looking at an offense that is centered more on two tight TE rather than WR centric

Any of them play in offenses similar to McD's?
Jets and Browns, so Vrabel is going to have some knowledge of the guy from his time there this year.

Maybe. Makes sense to start. Right now, the best weapons are at TE.

I really think Slayton is among the best FA fits for us. He doesn't address the desperate need for a #1 WR, but he does address the desperate need for more speed at WR overall. He's a guy I'd target early on in free agency and try to lock in a dealfter both Higgins and while other teams chase the higher ranked options. Just a really solid fit for us in our overall roster building, IMO.

Agree Slayton is a good fit in a lot of ways and has functioned as a de facto WR 1. I'm not down with going after both he and Higgins though, combined that's too big an allocation of cap space at the position

I don't worry too much about cap allocations right now. We have a QB on a rookie deal. The entire WR room outside of those 2 would be rookie deals. We don't have a highly paid edge rusher. Our all pro CB is on a rookie deal.

Obviously it depends on what else we do in FA, but in the short term it's not hard to see us being able to fit them in for a year or two. If you need to move on when spending picks up at other spots, most deals are structured with little money past year 2 or 3 of a deal.

Under this regime I suspect the OL and front 7 are going to draw down the cap space quite a bit initially. it's going to be an interesting offseason for sure

Why are we concerned about saving money like it’s our own?
Bob has shown a commitment to getting back to winning recently,
I am not concerned I think we see Bob spend big.
As Vrabel said only green free agents care about Is grass.
Plus playing for a star in the making in Maye;
Only teams I’m concerned as competition is Was,Bal,LA Chargers.

Nobody wants to come to NE and Bob doesn't want to pay market for a top WR. No chance the Pats land Higgins.

Washington is in the NFC.

so is when you don’t have a good number 2 cause we don’t spend the money we have for difference makers.

What would you do to fix the wr position?
Thanks to Mayo we don’t have an abundance of picks to use in a trade down from 1.

This is the price to play.
I’d happily give him 25 mill a season.

So would anyone, unfortunately that’s not reality.

You can only pay 3 players over 30 million a season, 2 if you don’t count the QB. So you want to give a #2 the money that should go to a true superstar player. If so don’t complain if they don’t have the money to pay Gonzalez in a year or 2.

Nah, he's too injury prone.

For the most part I don't think anyone who isn't just pissin' on everything is concerned about cash spending, it's just something for them to go off on. I agree there will be ample spending this year. I'm not sweating the cash, it'll get spent, however cap space is a finite resource. It has to be allocated accordingly

We will franchise tag gonzo. So we have another 3 years to worry about . Any deal that we sign now will not have more than 3 years guaranteed. So we should be good with these contracts . And next year rham, godchaux and dugger contracts will probably get moved on. So add another 15+ million to work with .

We can get Tee Higgins they are not going to tie up their cap in Two WR's. IF Wolf can offer the older Ridley that contract last year: he can do the same for the younger Tee Higgins. It's going to piss some off but they can cry me and Drake Maye a river.

He' worth $30 Mill the cap is going up: stop trying to save the Krafts $$$$$$ people.
