Remember like half the team didn't practice all week and who recovers within a week and they used separate planes I just forgot that explains a lot nit saying that's the main reason but don't let that distracte you from the fact that they used 2 planes.

What will be the excuse when our offense can’t move the ball on the freaking KC defense next week? Assuming we don’t sign AB.

The flu didn't make Brady have a 22 qb rating in the first half

Correct. And his receivers didn't suck because they had the flu. They sucked...because they just suck outside Edelman.

Really disappointing to see Sanu’s performances since the trade. He looks slow and hesitant. I expected more Anquan Boldin and less Aaron Dobson.

Seriously do you guys not remember him severely spraining his foot ? I don't get the circlejerk here.

How does everyone bring up Sanu looking slow and doesn't realize that he is severely limited to the point where he is barely used on the inside (i.e. the main reason he was brought here) because he obviously can't push off his injured foot well enough.

High ankle sprains are some of the worst type of injuries because most often players try to tough it out and keep it from healing quickly. It just lingers and lingers.

Well said, a very important but seemingly overlooked factor for Sanu.. I believe it was a "high ankle" sprain, and to come back in two weeks is better than average..

Nothing excuses an extremely lackluster performance by the Patriots Offense last night..

If the offense didn't look terrible every single week then maybe an excuse like that could be accepted.

He wasn’t hurt for the Cleveland game where he had 2 catches for 23 yards. He didn’t look good versus Philly where he saw the 3rd most snaps out of any receiving option and he caught 2 balls for 4 yards. Maybe none of us remember him looking good prior to the injury because we haven’t seen him look good? His highlight game was catching some short designed passes off the line where we went down 17-0 early and threw a lot. Even then, he produced 81 yards on FOURTEEN targets and they scored 20 points.

I was his main cheerleader the whole time he was being pursued, but the fact remains that he looks slow and unsure of himself. On punts, as a receiver. You name it. His biggest strength has been his run blocking.

That was his first game, days after arriving from Atlanta. He followed this up with a pretty impressive outing against the Ravens where he looked exactly what the offense needed.

That is the game he suffered the high ankle sprain and became a non factor subsequently.

He moved the chains and opened up other players by being a factor that the Ravens had to actually adjust for. There are things that show up on the stat sheet and things that don't. He will not be the player who will amass huge yards per reception. But the point is to have a reliable target inside who can quickly get open.

If you want to believe that it is a coincidence that the only game where the offense started to look somewhat close to normal in the last 2 months was the only game where he had a full week of practice and was healthy then so be it.

They'd never use it as an excuse, but it's just another factor in the revolving door on offense. Cannon doesn't look fully recovered yet, and regardless of the actual in-game health of these players, they can't afford to miss too many practices together. They need all the reps together they can get, and it just hasn't happened in back to back weeks all year. Blame whoever or whatever you want, but the circumstances this year have been beyond unusual.

Harry might have sucked because he had the flu and didn't practice enough to get into the game much (or was benched for not having the strength to fight for the ball on that first INT). I'd certainly feel better if Brady were throwing his downfield jump balls Harry's way. That's not a huge improvement, but Harry should get more time and improve and Sanu's injury will improve, so things will be better that last night. They definitely need to run the ball more though, because they are not going to bring a dangerous passing attack to the playoffs.

The defense had an off game and I’m sure the flu had something to do with it. They’ll be fine even if they’re not the elite unit that can earn a nickname like Boogeymen.

Pats were money in the RZ last season and that won them a title. This season they aren’t and don’t have a reliable kicker as a backstop. Hope that changes.

The offense has been consistently below average for MANY weeks now if not for most of the season. Defense has contributed mightily to point totals for most of the year.

I believe the flu is a week excuse for the team performance last night.

Bad teams look for excuses, very good or great teams find work arounds.

There is a big talent void on offense and apparently Patriots offensive schemes are like nuclear science so only PhD geniuses like Edelman can figure them out.

While the talent at skill positions and to some extent on offensive line is not there...McDaniels also deserves some blame for his seeming lack of ability to scheme and make adjustments.

They are not nearly as good as their 10-2 record says and if we want to be totally honest, right now the Bills have a more solid team and could possibly win the division

To be fair, you are comparing a guy who has been in this system 10 years to 2 guys who are 1st year players and another guy with 3 games in this system.
