What am I missing with them? They always seem to, just, suck. But I never hear about "organizational rot" with them that is keeping good staff and players from wanting to go there. Of course I don't listen to the 98.5 Sports Hub version of Jacksonville radio so I don't get to hear the doom and misery going on over there too

Two words:
Trent Baalke.

He` got his walking papers but it was several coaching candidates too late

MacDaniels ran the same system his entire career as an OC, it would be a surprise if he didn’t run it.
fair enough

I would think that Josh is a good enough coach to have Maye much better than last year when he starts Game 1, especially with a new top receiver and a new OL.

Also, the issue is really adapting by both Josh and Maye. I don't think that this will be a problem. I worry much more about the WR's. I'm sure that Vrabel will bring in those able to teach the WR's.

We should see the rest of the staff hires shortly I would think.

Yea it'll take a bit of time as TW and Josh need to interview their choices and whomever Vrabes wants them to talk to...

I expect the staff to be filled out by the end of the month.

I'm kinda the opposite... I feel like Vrabel and McDaniels probably know who they want on their offensive and defensive staffs already and will just go get their guys. They don't have any more Rooney Rules to deal with. Would be surprised if we don't have almost all key roles filled in by around next Tuesday

Moment of silence please.

Possible. I'm thinking more on the logistics being the factor and not any league-mandated impediments contributing to the lag.

It's Jan 21st. I'm sure they have a short list. Having 5-7 roles interviewed for O and D, offers extended and committed takes time which is why I said end of the month.

You're right that deals won't be signed and executed in extremely short order but I think we will have leaks that "X person is the guy" etc.

Rams loss is Patriots gain, one would think.
I agree with posters who have said Vrable had a good idea of the staff he wanted for whenever his next HC opportunity arose.

HC, OC & DC all WINNERS
