Reminds me of the Belichick's. BTW not a single news outlet has reported this.
from wiki
On January 14, 2025, Vrabel was hired by the Patriots to be an assistant offensive line coach for the team.[16]

I don't think that this is accurate.
==================
We have an experienced OL coach and an Assistant OL Coach.

Perhaps Tyler will get one the assistant/intern jobs. Every large group on the team needs at least one. This position is entry level, not that of a position coach.

I don't either.

Or Mayo and his brother. Or Andy Reid. Or Mike Shanahan. Or the Ryans.

It's almost like everyone does it and it's not that big a deal.

It is a big deal if you stand on the soap box and preach about entitlement on day one, I just hope its not true. Even if its position of carrying jock straps it should be earned

What if he's the best jock strap carrier?

Seriously though, no one in football cares about this. These teams are essentially like family businesses. If you work for Pop, you can't be surprised to see Son working the counter. It's only a problem if he's no good and he gets promoted.

How do you know no one cares? I havent had a chance to talk with people who hold positions in the NFL to know if it chaps their arse or not. If it did how vocal do you think they would be? This is a team that currently lacks a culture and an identity. I think its crucial to set the tone early and not have anything that looks "shady" right out of the gate. Is it a big deal if he does now have a BS job, probably not the end of world. I just dont agree. And if he was the best jock strap carrier he would have references other than his pop.

Probably to NC would be my guess.
If Steve is Bill’s HC replacement when he leaves, what happens to Brian?

This is as good of a time as any for him to take a job elsewhere in the NFL (or college) and build out his own connections and get exposure to others’ styles. Like what Steve did last year.

If he’s working as an intern it’s not a big deal.
I agree...but if its a paid job it should be open to anyone to compete for the position and not a fabricated job especially for him.

Common perk.

Belichick did it twice, Dean Pees did it, Jim Mora, Shottenheimer, Kubiak, etc.

Getting your kid in a door does just that…gets em in the door.

They still have to do the work.

And if anything must be better because everyone assumes they are only there because “Daddy”.

When my kids are older, of they ask me to use my connections to get them started I will.

But I’ll also tell them they better not embarrass me

HC's should be able to create whatever intern jobs that ownership is willing to pay for.

They should not be expected to open a job fair to fill such a position.

I think that the comparisons to Mayo and Belichick is a bit off.

It looks like Tyler might get an intern job.

Belichick and Mayo hired their relatives for real jobs. Belichick's sons did a good job. The less said about strength and condtioning last year, the better.

I would just prefer my kid get started down maybe at the college level and not under my wing. They would get more respect from their peers and the people they were trying to coach. But whatever its not the end of the world.

The Belichick kids were hired for glorified intern jobs and worked their way up. Stephen didn't just start calling defensive plays because Bill wanted him to.

Job fair? Reaching there......

All I'm saying is you cant sit in your first interview and preach about entitlement and then hand your kid a job.
Preaching to who? when? Vrabel's first interview was months ago.

F* nepotism
