Sorry. I live in NYC. Anybody who goes to the Meadowlands in Patriots gear when the Pats are in town is taking risks of which they should be aware.

I have thought of taking my kids to a pats jets game down here and nixed the idea many times and decided against it.

I hope the individual wasn't hurt, but they should have known the risk they were taking. Jets fans are cretins.

PS: I don't feel the same way about Giants fans.

The last couple of games I've been to were the equivalent of TSA screenings, and rightfully so. I couldn't imagine how things would turn out if people were able to bring firearms into the stadium. It'd be a complete disaster.

There are plenty of examples where one can wear their Pats gear to an away game, but you also have to accept the fact that you'll be drawing unnecessary attention to yourself and inviting idiotic comments the entire time. I'd have to imagine that most of the NFL fans are reasonable people who will playfully heckle you, and that instances like today's parking lot incident are rare.

I have a buddy who had a gun flashed at him at a bar outside Yankee Stadium just for being a Sox fan. No ones bigger than a .44. That said all MFY fans aren't a-holes either.

I've been to 80% of JetLife games and I can say it actually is a great place to spend time with the family. Even as opposing fans. Can't rule out idiots, but if you're not looking for a problem, you probably won't find one. And even if ya do, "good" Jet fans will help ya out (if deserving).
