Hopefully it's not a concern....

Friday's are always bad days to miss... hopefully just a personal thing and he's good to go Sunday. Otherwise maybe James White gets to show if he can be a third down back.

After Jones and Revis I'll wait for official word, but agree that Friday not usually a planned day to miss.

.....so much for the " vereen bowl "...

at least we're 15 million under the cap. gotta love kraft.

Not only are we not $15m under the cap due to LTBE incentives, Kraft has no control over the joints and bones of players.

It would be interestimg to see what Gray could do on a full workload.

What are you saying? If they paid someone more to play RB they would be at practice today? He hasn't missed a game yet.

I think he heard he gets the day off if he shows up late. He is headed to Foxwoods to enjoy his Friday off.

Poster123 (I won't demean our TE) thinks Vereen isn't there today because Kraft didn't pay him enough money.

lets wait until the injury report to panic

from Miguel's page:

The Patriots 2014 adjusted cap number is $139,109,051, so I have the Pats under it by $8,728,200.

----
I am not sure how much of that needs to be saved for possible incentives.

Blame the cap hit for the double murderer: $7,532,800

I'm not so sure about that. Isn't Kevin Faulk the last Pats player to have been caught? That was over 6 years ago. Blount got caught after he signed with Pittsburgh. Seems like Kraft might in fact have some control over them.

As long as our guys aren't hurt for more than a handful of games, I am always a little intrigued to see how the new/bottom roster guys perform under pressure. Will we see James White? Will we have a defensive line capable of stopping the run and rushing the passer?

Figuring these things out during the regular season will hopefully prevent injuries from one player such as Talib or Gronk, for example, from crippling the outcome of a game later down the road.

I'm excited to see BB's "No RB-No LB" Gameplan.

If this were last week, I would have dismissed this as prolly not a big deal, Now, not so sure after whiffing off the Jones absence.

Vereen had a good game last week, but the Patriots did draft James White to fill that role, knowing that Vereen has been pretty fragile over his career. As long as White doesn't suck (there is very little evidence one way or the other besides the fact he's been a healthy scratch), they're much better off than they would otherwise be if Vereen does end up missing time and they didn't have any other 3rd down backs on the roster. There are far worse players on offense who could be hurt (Gronk, Edelman, Wendell).

White was absolutely dreadful at running the ball in the preseason. He looked a whole lot closer to an easy first cut than a 4th round pick that was given a surprising amount of pub just a few weeks prior.

That said, I was impressed with his brief showing against KC, so I'm holding out hope that the PS issues were short-term.

Not a good day to miss. Maybe the team can sign a RB to come in and take some snaps this Sunday. I heard Ray Rice may be available.

I have a better chance of banging Kate Upton and Kate Middleton in a world-televised pay-per-view 3 way than Ray Rice ever has of playing a down for the Patriots.
