Influenza is a respiratory infection. It doesn't affect your stomach. When people say they got a stomach flu or attribute such problems to the flu they probably have a norovirus, as another poster mentioned.

Let me tell you mooks something...that is NOT the flu you got in the past month...it's this freakin' "uh,chest cold going around". I got my flu shot last month. Last week I spent two days hacking, spitting up, head in a vise, glands swollen...so bad all I ate was chicken soup for a day and half. Then it went to my lungs and I wheezed like a squeezebox for a few more days. I was fine at the Jets game. Next day? Gates of hell. Maybe it was exposure to the green slime that did it.

Same here. Started at a head cold mid-sept, turned into full blown bronchitis, and just this week ( 5 weeks later! ) it turned into full blown pneumonia. Its a nasty thing thats going around. Just now starting to feel like a human. I, too, had it get better then relapse about half way through.

THAT is what I'm afraid of,Cav..pneumonia.I've had it before and the docs tell me once you get pneumonia you become more prone to it anytime you get a lung infection. What I want to know is WTF is THIS bug?? No health care people warned anybody about this when I went for the flu shot but NOW it's like "oh yeah, that bug has been going around for a month now"...well, thanx for the heads up, Nurse Ratched...krist.

Ok everyone stay away from me...sound like you all have ebola or something.

It's really already going around? No one I know has had anything yet..only matter of time. I am pretty good about hygiene with antibacterial gel etc a bunch of times a day.

One thing I dreaded was when I was in college. 1 kid would get it..neither floor within week then building..once I graduated I really never get sick anymore..in college was numerous times a year.

So let me see if I have this right. Shane finds out he has to play his brother and sudden, "cough, hack, hack ... coach, I think I've got the black plague" ?

Ha ha, I'm just kidding around. I'm sure he really is sick. As previously mentioned, I'm sure it isn't actual influenza. It could be as simple as food poisoning given that he is the only one with it. If it is spreads, then norovirus/rotavirus are strong possibilities (wash your hands, Shane!). Hopefully he gets better soon. Maybe Grey will get some more reps in the meantime.
