Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

Good God, now they're fishing through walkthrough set-up details.

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

How so when the rule wasn't even in affect until 2006???

the clarifying memo came out in 06 usually you clarify something that exists already.

Ok but if they had been doing this out in the open since 2000 why did it take 6 years for anyone to make a complaint?

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

Goodell: "Walsh said that the Patriots knew what they were doing was illegal."

Since we're taking everything he says now as gospel, I guess BB's misinterpetation excuse was BS.

Who's "we", troll?

That's been my biggest question regarding the whole fiasco: If it was such a clandestine and shady activity that gave NE such an unfair advantage, why did almost every team they play for 7 years never complain or try to stop them?

Answer: It wasn't a big deal.

Christ, even Herm Edwards -- a divisional coach -- laughed it off.

Because Mangini left after 6 years of cheating ?

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

Question, are you satisfied that the punishment that was meted out to Bill Belichick and the Patriots last fall was sufficient.

Goodell's answer: absolutely.

Another question: is this it or will there be any more punishent. Goodell answered another question, didn't address the schmuck who was in the room when Goodell said the above (absolutely sufficient punishment).

And that's it. Goodell hearing over!

If it exists, then why does it need to be clarified?

Anyone who has kids can attest to the value of an unclear rule.

It's worthless.

And it proves that Bill really didn't think he was doing anything wrong IMO.

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

The only thing I got from watching those old game tapes is that #80 was a really good receiver back in the day

because it was common practice and not just for them.

THe memos sent out were a warning that this would no longer be tolarated.

BB ignored the warning or misinterpreted it.

A similar example would be the 5 yard chuck rule. It was always illegal but in practice it was more like a 7 or 8 yard chuck rule until the colts complained and the rule was clarified and now enforced at 5 yards.

Right, exactly, but the memo came out in 2006. How many Super Bowls have we won since 2006?

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

ticket scalping...this is just so much full of crap . Its clear that the media and everyone just have an agenda against the pats.

Well then guess what? Eric did more harm to himself than anyone.

Okay, you tell me then. Do you believe whatever he says or do you selectively believe him based on what you want to beileve.

This is not trolling. If you wanna see trolling I'll show you trolling.

Re: ** Updated: Walsh now meeting with Goodell

Holy crap, Schlereth and Carter are still trying to say we used the tapes during the game.

Unbelievable. ESPN has gone off the deep end.
