Tyquan Thornton Having a Tough Camp

again, when you win more than anyone you aren’t cursed. Perhaps you could call the fans who value shiny objects over winning cursed to have dropped be patriot fans.

And the whining about WRs happened all throughout the success
I agree with your points. I did not feel the gap was huge till Brady was here as sum of parts was phenomenal . I still think we have a great bunch of receivers. Just a bit underwhelmed that we have not had the marquee draft wr signing who explodes . Harry and tyquan are decently high picks in a deep draft class and returns have been underwhelming so far.

It's early still for tyquan , but are we not allowed to ponder what ifs ? It's hypothetical and not applicable in reality . But what is off season / pre season for otherwise ?

Ponder away, I just laugh at calling this teams history under belichick cursed.

Not the history , just the wr draft ... It's a small subsection. We have been blessed to win 6 rings . Can't ask for more. But as fans you always yearn for one more ..

The WR position that contributed its share to that success was not cursed.
Might not have had shiny things you like.
Might have, like every team at every position ever, had players that didn’t work out.
But it did produce and win championships.

So with Douglas earning a spot on the first team and Boutte flashing the last couple weeks and in the 2nd preseason game where does this leave Thornton?

Had a decent first preseason game but Injured again.

Id hate to give up on someone like Boutte for Thornton just because one was a 2nd rounder.

I dont see Thornton being able to withstand a big hit.

Pickens is going to blow up this season.

800 yards and 4 TDs last season.

just another whiff by the patriots on a wide receiver. I dont get how they miss so badly.

Although i think the N'keal harry draft takes the cake. we took him before EVERYONE. and apparently he's the only wideout from that season who couldn't play.

who knows the trajectory of that season and Brady in new england if we got Deebo or AJ brown or DK metcalf

Agree. Boutte showed in 1 play his potential that Thornton has yet to show and the fact that this is his 3rd injury.

It isn't whining when the team has such a horrendous record of drafting WRs.
It's been so bad that it actually does look more like a curse.

The Pats don't go after shiny objects. If anything, they're more likely to get rid of the shiny objects that they already have.

wonder if they'll stash him on IR to try and get boutte on the team.

like I said, its a waste to cut someone like Boutte who is showing something just because he was a 6th rounder vs. Thornton who was a 2nd rounder..

And once again the Fellowship of the Miserable can’t resist hijacking another thread with their whining.

Three of the last five posts have nothing to do with Thornton, the subject of this thread. One isn’t event about a Patriot player, doesn’t even mention the Patriots.

Sheesh.

EDIT: while I was composing that short note another post appeared. Now four of the last six (excluding mine) are not about Thornton, two don’t pertain to Patriots at all.

give it a break guys. We already know you think the Pats suck. You tell us all the time.

Teakwood caught his very 1st pass from Jones last week.

Boutee is in direct competition for Teakwoods roster spot. Douglas is already in.

so The Pats skill player group has devolved so much, that some Patsfans are defending and rationalizing the extremely underwhelming 2d round pick, Tyquan Thornton by saying "he's better than NKeal Harry"...and "his rookie year mirrored Demaryus Thomas"

Look at the bright side, your Jets are on Hard Knocks.

The track record of drafting WRs is largely not drafting them or not drafting them early.
The result of that strategy is the winningest 23 year run in the history of the sport.
Perhaps rather than whining about WRs that would lead you to understand that drafting WRs isn’t as important as you think.
But that’s just me, I see success, I say whatever happened worked. You see success and you find the flaw that was overcome and act as if it was a horrendous curse.
