Says the Jets are trying to convince themselves, but pretty much say its hard to make up a 6 td difference in
your head.

I think after the kickoff that game isn't going to be relevant in the minds of either teams to be honest, its a clean slate for both teams and the team that executes and plays better will win, which I feel strongly will be the Patriots.

Right now the Jets are the underdogs.

Come Sunday, everyone in America will be thirsting for their blood again, even Pats-haters.

This is Jets bulletin board material. We've gone 24 hours w/o Rexy saying stupid for the next game.

I think the critical part of this game is New England needs to come out again and play with the same tenacity they did in the last game, and play with the same intensity throughout and not let up. I had a discussion with someone the other day about the fact we've seen them really focused down the stretch of making sure they play a complete game for four quarters, and I'm hoping that continues through the postseason.

I think the other big part of this game is whether or not Belichick can convince the young guys that they're not quite as good as some of them think they might be. They already appear to understand that, but obviously in the playoffs there's less margin for error. You lose, and you don't get another game after that to bounce back...at least not for another seven months.

I believe this past week was all about Belichick telling the players they aren't as good as they might think they are, and showing the team there are still many areas they could improve on. I think the veteran leadership will have the young guys prepared for a playoff atmosphere.

I'm usually with Troy, but once that game begins, the 45-3 result will be right out the window. This is a new game against an invigorated team this week. The Pats need to come out with high intensity and get up on the Jets from the moment the game starts to make them one dimensional. If the Jets are in this game, it's because we've allowed the running game to still be a factor. Get up on them, and do it quickly, and it forces the game into Sanchez's shaky hands.

Agreed completely. But I think the Dolphins game showed great focus throughout for a game that meant pretty much nothing to us. That really impressed me a lot though. It showed the team is learning to give 60 full minutes no matter who the opponent is.

I think there will be a lot of pressure on the Jets to make a statement early in the game, but I think there are a lot of players on that team who are full of themselves and think the better team lost that night.

If the Jets can come out and establish the run and chew time off of the clock - it's going to be a tough game.

If we can come up and hang 10+ on them quickly I think it will be a Patriots' win going away. What happened 2 months ago doesn't matter now. If anything the Jets are sort of off the hook if they lose now, they're the plucky underdogs who are playing with house money. Everyone expects them to lose.

if the Pats can jump out to a quick 14-0 lead, that 45-3 will start creeping in their heads, and this will be a good things, they will start turning on eachother

The Jets rushed for 150 last time. They DID establish the run. It just did a whole lot of nothing

well..jets have done well when everyone counted them as out e.g 1st pats game, game in pittsburgh. They have handled pressure okay. Last yr they went to SD and beat an almost unbeatable and hot chargers team. So really anything can happen and i love troy but he is being wrong here. As a former player he should know the score is 0-0 now so they dont need to make up a 6 TD difference. Pats got smoked in pitt in 2004 in the regular season but went back and beat the steelers in AFCCG. So anything can happen really in the playoffs...heck , the seahwalks of 7-9 are the only home team which won this week. Go figure.

I dont know how Troy Brown can come to such a conclusion. He was a football player first before he became an analyst. In his playing days, in some very mediocre Patriot seasons, would he have ever approached a game feeling they are already beaten? I highly doubt it. Professional ball players never enter the game in that fashion. Did Seattle go into their game against the Saints on Saturday thinking they were going to loose?

Fact is Jets have beaten us once, this season. They are a good football team. And they know that if they play extremely well, they could beat us. Remember the Giants in 2007?

I'm probably in the minority here. This game has blowout written all over it.

It's got nothing to do with 45-3, or even that they've already beaten us. We are monumentally better then them as a team. We'll be rested, and the razor has been a "house of horrors" for RR traditionally.

I don't think the earlier blow out will play any factor. I just think that we are that much better then them. Certainly over the last 5-6 weeks. If sanzcheeze plays like he did yesterday, this game won't even be entertaining.

I think the Pats will win decisively, but maybe not a blow out. I think this current Patriots' team creates a lot of match up problems for the Jets. They were exploited quite a bit in the last match up. I don't know if Ryan can come up with a gameplan that can effectively minimize them.

I think we'll stop them on defense, but we won't score a lot. I'm thinking 27-13 as the final score.

Personally I think its one of 3 things.

1) They know they were owned and will say it isnt in their heads, because it is and they are trying to convince themselves its not.
2) They refuse to accept that they were owned, and are doomed to repeat that fate.
3) They actually accept it, know why, are humble to it and will work extra hard to close the gap.

From all I have seen of the coach, the team and its mentality, I think 2 is very likely, 1 is very possible, and 3 is impossible.

This is how I see it;

1. The Patriots are a fundamentally more sound team.
2. The Patriots are 8-0 at home this season.
3. The Patriots are playing at home with the Gilette crowd advantage.
4. The Patriots are the number 1 seed and hold the best record in the NFL going into the post-season.
5. The Patriots have form on their side.
6. The Patriots recently walloped the Jets.
7. The Patriots have a HoF QB and head coach at the helm.
8. This team is ready to play football.

I'm trying to convince myself that the Jets are a legitimate threat and that the Patriots should look at them with trepidation. The more I look at both sides the more I am convinced that the Patriots are the best side in the NFL and should obliterate the Jets. Whether or not they do is a different matter.

The Colts have a very small fast dline. They were man handled by the Jets big o line. I think the pats match up very well against the jets line. Sanchez was awful, and was playing like he was hurt. Come Sunday its going to be cold and probably windy, he is going to feel that shoulder, and he doesn't like playing in the cold anyways.
