Trevaris Cadet: Where does he stand in terms of making the roster?

So then, it's possible that he has more of a skill set resembling Vereen then anyone else on the team. It will be interesting to see what Belichick thinks of this possibility.

Totally. Don't get me wrong, Cadet has limitations. At 6'1, 210 pounds he does not have the build and strength to pass block . But he can play in the slot and provide a mismatch for linebackers.

I'm sure Belichick would find it tempting to convert him into a WR. I certainly would.

But then again, IANAC

Hes a lock. He is as vital to the offense as Gronk and JE11 and that is why he is sitting out the preseason

6'1" 210 is too small to pass block? Glad nobody told Faulk and Woodhead that.

...but, in answer to the question...

I kinda think he's too long and lean to pass block as well as the shorter, more explosive backs.

James White (5'10"), Shane Vereen (5'9"), Danny Woodhead (5'8"), Dion Lewis (5'8"), and Kevin Faulk (5'8") are obviously way smaller than Travaris Cadet, who seems like a monster compared to the rest of the options that we've been using lately.

6'1" and 21o lbs for a running back is fairly nice size. If Cadet can't pick up the blitz with that, he has no business playing football on our team. That's the #1 priority for every RB back there.

Edit: RC already addressed this. I'm being beaten to the punch today.

After looking at his measurables, that is concerning to me. He's not particularly fast, since he has bigger size, and if he's not able to use that size to protect the QB, I'm not sure where he fits in?

I wonder if BB didn't bring him in just in case no one else stepped up to the challenge? With White and Lewis looking better (although I've yet to see their blitz pickup), they may send Cadet out the door.

Maybe he brought him as a confidence builder for White...not sure.
