Time for a New Offensive Coordinator

2 more additional articles to refute the BS narrative that Josh hasn't had good players to work with. Offense anemic last year even with the GOAT QB. Time for a change and a new OC.

Dec'19: The Patriots’ Very Real Offensive Problems Could Doom Them.

Nov'19: The Patriots offense is broken but they may have already found a way to fix it.

McDaniels is absolutely exposed without Tom Brady. Offense showed cracks even last year with the GOAT QB who knew he was leaving.

How many limbs are you going to bend backwards to defend McD? Brady is a great player (still). You can't excuse every single inept offensive game away from McDaniels... Even with the GOAT QB last year the offense wasn't clicking. We need a NEW offensive coordinator.

.
and in 2 years, we likely will asking why the offense isn't much good..

Well it won't be good if McDaniels stays. Is there any evidence he's any good without Brady? 3 different examples say no: Denver, St Louis, and this season.

.

How about last year when Tom Brady was the quarterback and the last 9 weeks the team averaged only 20 points per game, same as this season's points per game ?

.

If you have a QB who can't threaten deep or outside the numbers and a bunch of rookies that said QB won't throw to because he expects perfection then there is only so much you can do. You can see him having similar issues this year except he is surrounded by crazy amount of talent.

Stop pretending it is 2010 and acknowledge that he has been on a downward trajectory since 2018. It doesn't diminish what he has achieved in his career and it is perfectly normal to slow down with age. Especially once you go beyond 40.

Oh wow. So the angle to continue to deflect for McD is to trash on the GOAT QB as well? Wow.

.

During past seasons Josh has run hot and cold. This year there were few weapons.

I posted evidence that it's not just this year. Includes last year since Oct even with brady.

.

Quote below. Gee, I wonder who in charge of the offense would have worked NKeal Harry out in Foxboro and said he was good... Sounds like deja vu when Holley revealed in his book we took Maroney over scout objections due to McDaniels as well.
--
"Scouts reportedly brought up warning signs about the Arizona State product, but Belichick still went for the wideout in the first round (over other options like Deebo Samuel and A.J. Brown) because Harry aced his visit to Foxboro"

The case for Chad O'Shea back as Offensive Coordinator since we missed on Brian Daboll:

- 2020. Passing Game coordinator and WR coach for Cleveland. Despite Odell Beckham on IR, revitalized Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland offense.
- 2019 Miami Dolphins Offensive Coordinator. Last 9 games the Dolphins went 5-4 and had a top10 scoring offense. Devante Parker put up 1200 yards and 9 TDs.
- 2009 to 2018. Patriot WR coach and Offense Red Zone coordinator. He was the guy who helped develop Edelman, also coached Welker, Brandin Cooks, Randy Moss, all 1000 yard receivers. Multiple reception records set. Red zone offense was also much better compared to 2019.
- 2003-2008 Minnesota and Kansas City

The offense was anemic, but it finished 7th in the NFL.

And we had weapons last year, but our LT was Marshall Newhouse, C Ted Karras, Shaq Mason had surgery on his busted ankle that he played on, and RT Marcus Cannon was also hurt all year, or replaced by Korey Cunningham.

And somehow they finished 7th in the NFL!

Because of how good Tommy Brady is. And if your ranking figure is total points that's inflated due to defensive and special teams TDs ... They averaged only 17.6 points per game the last 9 games.

The ripping starts at 3:40. Josh McDaniels is completely exposed without Thomas Brady III. 28th offense this year, 32nd offense in St Louis, 5-17 record in Denver before being fired. Probably the most overrated coat-tail credit getting coach of the entire Tom Brady era.

More.

Peter King:
"They come back from a crushing Super Bowl loss, and Belichick and owner Robert Kraft are able to talk McDaniels out of taking the Indianapolis head-coaching job. In so doing, Belichick, according to multiple reports, agrees to take McDaniels behind the curtain and give him the inside story of what it takes to build and care and feed a great team. We have to assume that’s happening now. If so, McDaniels is likely playing a role in draft prep, particularly at the quarterback position. The only way—in my opinion—that the Patriots will go outside the box and trade a cadre of picks to move up for a quarterback is if McDaniels and Caserio and Belichick feel one of the top five (including Louisville’s Lamar Jackson) has championship potential. Then and only then would the Patriots mortgage the future to get Brady’s successor. I still think it’s a long shot. Not impossible, but a long shot."
Lol

Brady was not good last year. 95% sure it was because of the injury but Brady was an average qb.

Aided in no small part by the Charmin-soft first-half schedule they played, when they were healthier...Ah well, at least we'll always have September 2019 in Miami, the Last Great Game of the Dynasty...But even that victory soon became a Pyrrhic one...

And that Miami game was a great one for me since I was there and watched what could have been had AB kept his head on straight.

It's sad and totally odd how some people will try to defend crappy skippy McDaniels by trashing on the GOAT QB.

.

What are these injuries to Brady (& Shack Mason) that people keep bringing up?
Brady had bursitis in the elbow of his throwing arm. Reportedly blown up like a grapefruit.
mason was injured all year.

What’s sad is that you have an agenda and can’t be honest about it.
Brady was awful in the second half and over the course of the year a very average qb, which is impressive for an injured 52 year old.
Stating the truth isn’t trashing him.

It was because of the OL. Cam got 3x as much time this year
Brady wasn’t right last year and got worse as the year went on. The fact that he bounced back this year while staying healthy shows that.
Sure there were OL issues but it’s been as bad at other times and Brady never looked like that.
