Coming off of back to back 4-13 seasons, outside of a handful of players, no one's job should be safe because of draft status, because they are a vet, because of their contract, etc...Getting rid of highly drafted players after they play terribly under one year of terrible coaching is NOT a winning strategy in the NFL. Sure, we drafted him too early. And because he failed as a rookie he should be cut??? IMO, McConkey would probably have failed also. Of course, DeJean wouldn't have, but that is another story.

If that's Vrabel's decision, I'm fine and I suspect that Polk is fine also. He'll move on to one of the many teams that considered him a 3rd round talent last year and want a very inexpensive #5 WR.
polk is not one of the handful of players at this point...
