Could you imagine Mario's fiance, "Really Mario, Buffalo? This city is so lame they don't even have a Real Houswives of Buffalo show."
Just like with Peppers, the pats should have at the very least brought him in for a looksee. If nothing else, just to drive up his price. I'm pretty sure that Buffalo beat the Pats last year, add Williams, and another top ten draft pick, and they could be very good.
I fail to see the rationale behind not having a pass rush. It was the difference is the SB loss (All of Brady's mistakes came from pressure), while Eli picked us apart. It has been since Willie McGinest left that the Pats have lacked a pass rusher.
With WIlliams gone, and all the good pass rushers will be long gone before 27, the Pats will once again, waste another year of Brady's career..........
And its a scary Achilles. It's all about his achilles
Kyle Orton reached a three-year agreement with the Dallas Cowboys.

That is two Superbowl LOSSESS, to the same inferior team, a team that the Pats have better personel than in every position group except one: D-line. Could you imagine
What eveyone fails to see is that if you have that one elite pass rusher, he has to be accounted for, he has to be schemed for, he has to be double, chipped, etc... That opens up holes for the rest of the d-lineman. You can have five Andersons for the price of one Peppers/Williams, and all five of them will be single teamed by the left tackle. What you need is someone who demands doubleteams, someone who can get to the QB, make him move, open up holes for the rest of the d-line. The Pats lack this and have YEARS now, and it has cost them at least 3 Superbowls (Counting the loss the the Colts you know, the game where the Pats were up 21-0).

You realize that the whole reason why the Texans didn't re-sign Williams is because they have Brooks Reed and Connor Barwin, right? Two guys who, get this, were drafted well after 27. Actually, nevermind, I'm sure that you don't realize that.
Tracy White re-signs with the patriots.

Where do you get this Merriman info? He was suspended in his second year. He made All-Pro in his first three seasons, including the year he was suspended...they don't suspend you the day you fail a test, either, or anything close to that. Goodell publicly stated that Merriman had tested clean 19 out of the 20 times he was tested since coming into the league: this was said when Merriman had only been in the NFL for two seasons.
People want to make out Merriman to be some kind of poster boy for steroids, and it's just not true. The issue is whether he can recover from his injuries, which is questionable to say the least.
As far as Mario, if he signs here, I'm fine with the money. It's too much, but I'm fine with it because that's what it takes. The Bills typically go into the season with millions in cap-space anyway, so the difference won't be apparent. Ralph Wilson reported said "spend it all" this year. They'll be a cap-floor next year (?), I believe. I can't think of a better way to spend this money...I'd rather SPEND it, is the point. A few years from now (or whenever), Mario will no longer be the highest paid defensive player in the NFL IMO.
Pass rush is just about Buffalo's biggest issue. We get Mario, and we can do so much better filling other needs in the draft. Maybe pick up another free agent, too.
