The Ravens will need to get a Steelers Hangover cure for Saturday if they want to win

I saw this interesting stat. It looks like the Ravens are not good in the game after they play Pittsburgh. From ESPN:

The Steelers hangover is going to be too tough to overcome. The Ravens historically have trouble getting emotionally and physically recharged after playing their biggest rival. Since 2011, the Ravens are 4-4 the week after their game against the Steelers, including 2-4 on the road. Now, the Ravens are facing a Patriots team that has had an extra week of rest.

Just to add some context...

* The stat is a bit misleading because 2011 had two losses. Since 2012, the Ravens are 4-2 and are 3-1 in the past two years. Seems like someone was playing with arbitrary starting points.

* That said, it is interesting that they don't usually play that well even without considering record. The two games this year were against Cleveland (23-21 win in a game the Ravens were seriously outplayed in. Missed FGs and a receiver slipping with no one within 10 yards of him on the way to a game sealing TD had more to do with that than anything Baltimore did) and TN (sloppy 21-7 win that was actually a single score game throughout).

It isn't just this year, either. In 2013 They lost in Cleveland and squeaked past a terrible Minny team (29-26) in a game that had, IIRC, something like 4 lead changes in the last three minutes. 2012 saw them win at SD (16-13, that was the game when they converted a 4th and 29 with a three yard checkdown to Ray Rice) and lost at Washington.

So, even if I discount the record, Baltimore only once has Baltimore beaten a team by more than 3 points despite several games against weak sisters.

I don't think there are hangovers come playoffs. No matter who they played i had them winning the WC game.

We are gonna destroy them. It's our turn. They got the best of us when we had weaknesses. Now the shoe is on the other foot. This team is built to beat them. I really think BB and co. have a great game plan coming. The storm cometh.

i 100% agree. Gronk and Revis this time along with Browner and Hightower and Collins playing outstanding

Let us hope that this trend continues, and that the Ravens continue to struggle in games after playing the Steelers.
