The price of leadership

Re: Howard Bryant criticizes Belichick/Brady on handling of Hernandez situation

I read the article.

What you read from Peter King was the "on-the-record" comments from Tom Brady. What you heard in Bill Belichick's press conference was the "on-the-record" comments from BB. Both of them said the situation was very sad and failed to elaborate. To comment on an ongoing murder investigation by assigning blame to a party is egregious and potentially opens you to up for libel suits. Suppose that a year from now, we find out that Aaron Hernandez was actually not guilty. I'm not saying that's the case, but the point is, we have still yet to even hear from the defense. Even still, the lack of support of AH from anyone in the Pats organization speaks for itself.

Howard Bryant must be the most pessimistic human being on the planet if he thinks the comments by Belichick and Brady sum up their innermost thoughts about a teammate likely murdering an innocent person right near the stadium where they live half their lives. I'm sure that deep down he knows his story is nothing more than a hatchet job, but hey, you have sell magazines, right?

Bryant the "look at me!" race-baiter is at it again? So surprised.

Saw this yesterday. Thought it was a pathetic article not worth posting here. So I will ignore it now.

Bryant's Twitter feed reads like a teenager's.

As a not-so-minor point: if BB says "I think Hernandez is guilty," he can't be sued for defamation, since he's clearly stating his personal opinion.

Moreover, since Hernandez is clearly a public figure, he would have to prove "actual malice," which is very, very difficult to do in his case.

[OTOH, he wouldn't have to prove damage to his reputation, since accusations of criminal behavior are defamation per se.]

Howard the One-Trick Pony Bryant has been completely unreadable for a very, very, very long time.

The mediot has become the message... sorry Marshall McLuhan.

Dear Howard:

"Subsequent HOWARD comments, after the HACK got HIS story straight, at least allowed that the situation was a "terrible thing," but his first, unscripted words spoke loudest. In other words, tough break, WIFE whatever- HER- name-was, but HOWARD has CRAP ARTICLES TO WRITE. He's moved on. HOWARD GOT ESPN CLICK'S being charged with WIFE BEATING while also being linked to a LOUSY ARTICLE a year earlier sound no different from overcoming IGNORANCE, WIFE-BEATING AND BEING A PATRIOT HATER."

Fixed that for you!
Scott.
