Marino looked real good in that 63-3 beating that the jaguars gave them, and next time read the post. Since the dolphins groomed all of their all pro quarterbacks you can see how many playoff appearances they have had since marino has retired

Last time I checked Marino is just one example. Elway, Favre, Gannon and others fly in the face of your argument. What if we trade away brady and he is the league MVP at 37 like Gannon was? Or wins a Super Bowl at 38 like Elway did?

Yeah, but smart GMs trade away their franchise, HOF QBs in their prime for untested second year QBs.

BTW, the Dolphins had back to back 11-5 seasons after Marino retired. And they had Dave Wanstedt as their head coach both those years.

that Brady has been holding us back for years. I say we release him now and use the money to sign a top notch punter!

Marino was an All-Pro at age 34. At the end of his career, he was quarterbacking a team with such luminaries as John Avery and Karim Abdul-Jabbar in the offensive backfield and Oronde Gadsden and Lamar Thomas were the Dolphins #2 and #3 receivers. He still got that team to 10-6 in his second to last year with an 80 quarterback rating.

Elway went to 3 consecutive Pro Bowls at ages 36-38, and was an All-Pro in 2 of those 3 seasons. At age 38, he retired after winning his team's second consecutive Super Bowl.

Montana went to the Pro Bowl at age 37.
Steve Young was a Pro Bowler and All-Pro at age 37
Phil Simms was a Pro Bowler at 39
Warren Moon was a Pro Bowler at 41

But you keep talking about moving a 30-31 year old Brady. :bricks:

I'm confused. I thought the poster was making a joke, but after reading all the replies, I guess he was serious.......seriously f'd in the head. Can we trade the guy who made this thread to the colts board?

Well I'll be damned, they lost one game by a lot of points, that certainly must mean they should have traded him.

Brady's in his prime ********, go away.

So you want pro bowlers and 11-5 seasons Elway won because of Davis Favre and Gannon what did they win the last ten years of there career let me see nothing.

God help this message board if Tom should throw an int. before we clinch this year.

Why not trad Brady for some magic beans?

What's Matt Friggin' Ryan won ever?!?

Listen closely: in today's NFL, Brady's IN HIS PRIME. No one can put a price on what he means to the franchise. If a team offered five 1st-rounders, I'd still want them to go screw.

P.S. Punctuation is important, if only so someone doesn't have to read your post three times to figure out where the sentence breaks are.

I say we draft Matt Ryan grome him for a year then trade Brady for a 1 and 2 in 2009 and a 1 in 2010

Yeah Rrrright!!
Good job I only read that on April 1, I might have thought you were
one short of a full set otherwise. How does groming go again? Is that some sort
of New Jersey initiation rite?.

Yeah seriously, who the hell wants a roster full of pro bowlers and repeated winning seaons? WTF who wants that?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic
things I've ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response
was there anything that could even be considered a rational thought.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award
you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

LOL Perfect Billy Madison reference
