Do you want Will Campbell at 4 assuming Hunter and Carter are off the board?

Where do you see that?

The things I've seen seem to lean towards Campbell being the obvious preference. Maybe I haven't seen the same things.
I don’t think there’s much to glean from a HC presser, but he didn’t sound to effusive about the LTs. Something like ‘there’s some that can start’ when asked about a LT at 4. I cam away from the presser raising the chances that Walker is the pick. I’d still make Campbell/ Membou favourite though.

Vrabel also completely downplayed Josh McDaniels with the press during the OC search, only for it to come out he was his #1 choice the whole time (as had been previously reported).

Vrabel knows how to play the game with the media. I wouldn’t dismiss OT at 4 at all.

It was Wolf that put his foot in his mouth when he said we won't draft for need this year. His days as a member of the Patriots staff are on the clock shortly after Sunday the 27th.

It was from before his 4/15 presser. Just pure speculation. No way to know which way he's leaning.

Pats already paying a great deal for RT, RG, decent amount for a C, a number of candidates at LG. So taking a (forget short armed) but record small arm span and pay him #4 money to move to LG? Then get another very highly paid LT in the draft next year. Maybe a good line for '26 - but based on money spent? Very likely near bottom of the league.

Better get a physically correct LT in the 20-24 range and coach him up with a blocking TE to chip the Edge, and go to a 3 step drop RPO plan with Jeanty at #4.

Define, please.

If cost is the concern, you could get out of every deal from C to RT next off season.

But i wouldn't say RT or C is high paid.

And drafting a tackle in '26 would not be considered very highly paid. Rookie deals for premium positions are quite the value.

If $ is your concern, it shouldn't be one. The team is WAY under the cap and is projected to be WAY under the cap again next year. Money is no issue.

Assuming they can trade into that position and also assuming that Campbell, Membou, Simmons, Banks, and Conerly are even there at the position they trade to. Big assumptions there, especially if it is a trade up scenario, and would it be worth it given the likely cost.

Alternatively given the perceived lack of elite talent in this class, is it realistic to think another team will be willing to pay a nice price to move up to #4 and if so how far would the Pats have to go down.

All of those things need to be balanced against each other obviously. I think the reason people are saying they think the Pats will stick and pick Campbell is that even with his evident flaws there isn’t a lot better option for them at that spot and there isn’t so tar as we can tell a rabid interest in any other prospect including in particular Sanders.

Personally I’m still hoping Hunter or Carter falls or they could do a relatively small trade down (e.g., to #9) if they can add a Day 2 pick, am OK with Campbell at #4 but also with Membou, Graham. and Jeanty, and would not go nuts if it were Warren, maybe even Simmons, Walker, Jihaad Campbell, McMillen. I’m basically willing to trust the process with Vrabel here.

I think it’s 98% sure it’s gonna be Campbell. And I’m fine with it. We needed a top notch LT for years. And Breer made a good point, start him at LT, see how it goes, and next year, the LT draft is much deeper. Kick him into guard and take a LT. Thats’s the worst case scenario, and it ain’t horrible.

My thoughts are, he’s gonna be a 10-15 year Left Tackle in the NFL. And he’s gonna be a good one.

As I tell everyone, what you’re getting at the draft isn’t a finished product. There’s no rule stating these prospects can’t get better. With Marrone coaching him up, Campbell could become much better. And he’s already very good.

As a Pats fan I hope it works out obviously. I'm just pissed that it's come to this point. They've pretty much left themselves with no better option.

Maybe that's how they want it to seem. Maybe Wallace can play LT. Maybe it's all subterfuge. Maybe they go Membou. Maybe they know Simmons is good to go. Maybe they have the trade downs all set to go. Maybe not.

I cringe every time he opens his mouth.

Picking a guard at #4 is horrible. Flat out horrible. Campbell has never played guard and we have no idea if he is any good at guard. Drafting a project at guard with the #4 pick is a disaster scenario.

Nobody is drafting him to be a guard. He will be drafted to play tackle. But i don't think anyone considers him a franchise, Orlando Pace type if tackle.

The argument is, if you then have the ability to land a franchise tackle later, and he becomes a guard? So what. You've built a dominant line. Maybe he even moves to RT, it doesn't have to be guard. Just about getting the best players you can and putting together the best unit. Scott literally said he thinks he's a long term tackle. Just pointing out an option down the road. Thats not a bad thing.

My question is simple and this may answer the length and wing span issues. How many 6'6 dudes have those measurable? It might just be that iy is unusual. That doesn't mean he can't play

I love how we hear about the underwear Olympics measurable’s and how he can’t do this or that
Watch the ****ing tape. He dominated against SEC players for 3 years
I’ll take tape over Geek measurable’s any day

Campbell's tape in 2024 was not dominant against projected NFL players. Look at the game against Kennard. Have you really looked at the tape???
