The Official 'Trade Brady' Debate Thread - Do Not Start Another One

What a joke this entire thread has been!

Just watch tonight's game to see just how far short of a "premium" NFL QB Matt Cassel really is. Tonight is not an anomoly, let's be perfectly clear about that.

ANYONE who has even hinted at trading Brady and keeping Cassel clearly doesn't know their arse from their elbow and needs to go stick their head in the sand.

brady value just shooted up ...

i think we all forgot who the teams were that allowed cassel to throw for 400+ yards. talking about the jets and the dolphins. not exactly the '85 bears we are talking about. cassel is and never will be tom brady. franchise and trade cassel if you can, if not let him walk.

Brady threw for 399 yards last year against the Steelers. Why does it take a bad game for everyone to remember how great and special brady is.
Least the Jets are still losing.

I think someone should start a new thread on trading Brady!

After seeing today's game, anyone want to trade Brady now? Didn't think so.

Yah, well, the old conditional "If he marches the Pats to the Super Bowl" caveat doesn't seem terribly likely at this juncture. Tom's safe from QB controversy tonight.

I think this thread can officially be locked.

I think it needs to go too. The idea of trading Brady was embarrassing enough to begin with, did it have to be solidified in the online universe?

Whoever thought the dumbass idea of trading away Brady is a complete moron.

Matt Cassel did not have his best game, but I think its safe to say... Brady is still the man

Although I agree that this thread is stupid it is about time you lot stopped hating on Cassel's performance tonight. His protection was crap and his recievers just weren't making plays. There were occasions where he got the ball into decent areas.

We've done pretty well considering our injury list in my opinion. What other time would win as much as us with so many stars out?

Can someone tell me our chances of making the playoffs? I only know the basics.

haha once again cassell proves why he just isnt that great vs. real teams..i give him props for the 2 straight 400 yard games but i dont see NE going anywhere until next season..i wish we showed a little more heart today..oh well hopefully we play better in the up & coming weeks

after watching this teams defense maybe Brady would be better of in Chicago . lol!

What a bunch of homers. I watched the game and Casell wasn't on my list of f'ups. Did he miss the short field goal which would put us up at the half, drop the ball in the end zone for a score, drop a wide open long pass with no one even close, or fumble the kick off. Oh yea, he fumbled when someone hit him on the blindside, his first pick went off the hands of the tight end. Quit honestly, it was over after that point.
How easy it is to yell out moron if a member speaks of trading Brady. Because with Brady the Patriots would win this year's superbowl, right? That would be two in a row counting last year's. A long time ago the Patriots traded PLunket who was in his fith year and received 2# 1's who turned out to be one of the greatest DB's ever and Tim Fox. Sure could use a good db today, as O'Neil is not the answer. If Plunkett was worth 2#1's, what would Brady bring. What if the Pats received (thru a multiple team trade) CB Asomugha, LB Demarcus Ware, and S Ed Reed. Just lets say that the cap is worked out and in the final analysis, the Patriots end up with a shut down defense and a very competent qb, and still have their own #1. Now, if people still want to say, under no circumstances should the Patriots trade Brady, then I sure hope BB comes up with some good defenses, because even with a great qb (Brady) the Patriots are not winning anymore championships with their current defense.

People who say that Brady wouldnt have made a difference in the losses this year, are people who dont understand just what he brings to this team.

I always thought the trade Brady keep Cassel talk was just the lunatic fringe over reacting and I pretty much think those blaming Cassel for today's loss are in the same group. Moss, Gaffney, Watson, Slater, O'Neil and Light deserve a lot more blame than Cassel.

I agree. Some of these people are so obsessed with Cassel that they can't see that this is a very FLAWED team, especially on DEFENSE.
