You're obviously very emotional yourself tonight.
Claiming that TFB doesn't show leadership skills at all is quite possibly the craziest thing I've ever heard on this forum...ever.
It was b/c of Brady that they won last week, and the success of the team in general has been built around Brady's leadership for yrs.
We have no idea how many times they've practiced those plays throughout the past couple of months/this week/whatever. Idiotic mistakes aren't going to be tolerated on this team. It's one of the reasons why we've remained so successful.
I don't disagree but that does not make him a leader. I know folks here are upset by what I am saying but it is true.
Our special teams continues to stink up the place--we desperately need a spark there to flip the field once in a while. We have neglected that aspect of the game for years. Why the heck is Blount returning kickoffs? I hate how NE just ignores it since they think Brady will drop 50 every week.
Belichick:
"Tom is probably the best leader I’ve ever been around so I wouldn’t be too critical"
I was thinking the same thing. I was relieved to see that he was ok.
Why is Blount returning kickoffs, especially with Washington being active.
and did ya like the announcers talking about teams starting 0-2 having little chance to make the post season? The 0-2 2001 Pats come to mind.
Tom Brady may be the greatest QB ever to play the game of football.
This is one of the rare occurrences where ballwashing is totally acceptable.
As I've said several times now, unless you know what happened, how many times they've gone over it, and what kind of mistakes are made I don't think it's fair to judge a couple/few over the top reactions.
It only happened a couple/few times. You're acting like every single play and missed drop was a total meltdown. It's been addressed. We should move on.
I for one, appreciate his perfectionism--even if he may have been a little rough on the rookies a couple of times tonight.
They were far more successful when they played like a team and supported each other. Would you honestly want to work with someone who acted like that? Is that really the way to get the best out of the young receivers?
Being a fiery leader and showing up the kids constantly in front of the whole world are two different things. As troy brown just said. You wont treat your own kids like that. They kids and he is 13 yr vet and if he loses control and shows up people like this , they arent going to get any better. Again as troy said, BB handled it great after the game, waved to the crowd, was chipper in the presser about teams attitude etc.
I know everyone has a different personality but Iam not a big fan of constantly showing up your co workers. And the the EZ play where edelman ran a wrong route, he scremed at at him leaving the field and then watched the replay and again screamed at him. not really a high point of his game .No sense of encouragement for thompkins after his tough non catch either. And he admitted it in the post game.
Remember when he blew a gasket on the sidelines vs the steelers a couple of yrs ago on SNF and then went on to pummel them ? I loved that. He gathered the team around and yelled at all of them. Today wasn't like that.Tom Brady may be the greatest QB ever to play the game of football.

One of the reasons they are in this hole is their total lack of development of young receivers in the last 6 or 7 years. Again, what young receiver is going to thrive under that leadership?
I'll give Mangold the benefit of the doubt as I've never heard of any claims that he's prone to dirty or cheap shots.
I disagree and if its not stopped they won't go anywhere. Perfectionism should be focused on self improvement. He is a senior player who should show leadership, not what he showed tonight. He owes his teammates an apology for the way he acted. If this doesn't change, bad things lie ahead.
I am actually quite optimistic about the team if he does man up and realize he has to bring these guys along. One of the reasons they are in this hole is their total lack of development of young receivers in the last 6 or 7 years. Again, what young receiver is going to thrive under that leadership?
I'll correct you. Dobson dropped at least two balls against... I don't remember, UCF? I posted the video here when the Patriots drafted him.
