The official Patriots vs Jets game thread

From what I see, the Jets are doing the same thing they did in the playoffs- playing heavy secondary, nickel, dime and even half. On a few occasions I counted 7 DBs and 3 linemen.

Brief Half time comments

Boy, you can't help but remember Alge's drop last year when you see the one Hernandez dropped. Worse, this drop turns into a pick and we lose the 3 points.

Still it was a horrible half for the Pats, yet they still are ahead, AND get the ball to start the 2nd half. They HAVE to get some point on this drive.

It will be interesting to see if the Dante and the OL can fix what is ailing them. ALL the sacks have been coverage sacks but STILL

We are running the ball well

We are not playing from behind like last season.

Brady is going to have to hit one of those deep throws this game.

The defense is going to have to do better against the run, and I'd like to see us do SOMETHING that isn't plain vanilla. Have we suddenly morphed into the Jags the last few weeks.

Hopefully the O will fix things, and BB has saved his "wrinkles" on D for the 2nd half.

Does getting beat at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball bother anybody except me?

The defense is playing great. One TD on a very tough drive that gave nothing away. It took the Jets six plays in the Red Zone. This is nothing like previous defensive efforts. This is a a tough game and the Pats defense is holding up its end of the deal.

I think the Pats are going to come out guns blazing here in the 2nd half. They've been setting the Jets up in the first half with stretch run plays and passes down the seam to Hernandez. I think the play book is going to open up here.

I kept saying the same thing in the playoff game, we can't keep on committing these mental mistakes and we actually did. The defense could not stop a nose bleed and they did not. What is the difference from last year?

Another dream is dead. I wanted them to go 19-0. Wanted them to never lose a playoff game at the razor. Wanted them to never lose an AFC title game. And wanted Brady to never throw a red zone pick. There is not much to cheer for now other than winning. If they lose this game it might be time to jump ship.

The concerning part is this is kind of like the early part of last year's playoff game. We left points on the board while we had the momentum. Now the Jets can take full advantage because you know we can't outplay them all day and they will get theirs.
