That's a point in Mallet's favor no? Unless you're just saying that Cassel was a total mirage. Even still Cassel looked like crap with that offense in preseason.

Neither was playing with the first offense in the preseason. It's not a point in either's favor, it's just saying that Mallett in 2013 wouldn't have the support (nor the easy schedule) that Cassel did in 2008. It's a different context for an unproven backup QB, basically. That's nothing Mallett can help, certainly, but it's worth thinking about in terms of personnel decisions and it sort of invalidates the Cassel comparison.

He should've had an INT too - was lucky that Amukamura came down with a hand out of bounds. It was a terrible throw regardless of the results, which tempers my enthusiasm for tonight quite a bit, but it's still a pretty decent performance so far.
