anyone else get nervous when you see Dobson and Thompkins playing in this nothing game?

They need the practice, but Mallett hanging Thompkins out to dry with that pass over his head on the last drive scared me.

The way our second defense has looked during the preseason so far, I have to say they've looked pretty good against the Giants first string.

I'm not a big fan of Mallett, but he's looked a bit more confident and decisive so far in this game.

Expecting Ryan to cover a talented WR like Nicks 1-on-1 in isolation like that is asking too much of the rookie IMO.

And it wasn't bad coverage but its the matchup. Rookie and one of the best right now for that play. He did pretty good IMO.

It was actually Mario Manningham who made the big catch, not Hakeem Nicks. Remember Belichick's mic'ed up comments? "Make them throw it to Manningham, make them throw it to Pascoe." Well, unfortunately they threw it to Manningham...

I agree with your thoughts though. That route was very difficult to defend, if not virtually impossible.
