We have a great shot with this running attack!

I hope Mankins is ok. I remember early in the season Amendola got hurt so they brought him to the locker room and shot him up with something and he came back and played great but missed time after that. Mankins went to the locker room too and then came back the same way. Just hope he's good to go and nothing got hurt even worse.

Why the hell don't we run it on third and short?

yup. Posted by several and BB said it at the presser. Historic day for Blount.

Thanks, Mack. I know I posted it, but I wasn't 100% sure.. Thanks for confirming

That would be nice but I highly doubt they would have the money for that. I think it's more likely they draft a TE 1st round.

The Pats aren't going to draft a TE in the 1st round because there really isn't one worthy of that. Look for them to focus on the D-line or CB.

Well others did the leg work to dig up the stats that really confirmed it, Very exciting to see a performance that goes off the charts. But it hasn't been completely pout of the blue as Blount has shown steady improvement and took over the bulk of the carries with Ridley's security troubles. Many fans have been wanting to see a commitment to the run for years and suddenly this. Really good to see the running game come on for the playoffs, as it can only give the coaches more confidence in running it.

Regarding the announcers, something that was driving me nuts during the game was that they kept pronouncing Siliga's name as "Si-ling-ga." And I'm thinking to my self "There's no freakin 'g' in his name."

I was planning to come here and rant about it, but then I checked to see if there was an official pronunciation for his name. Turns out, Fouts and Eagle had it right. I guess I should the give the professionals the benefit of the doubt once in a while.

Is Blount a free agent after this year?

Blount
Edelman
Talib
Spikes?

Yes, those 4 are, in addition to Wendell, Fletcher, and Hoomanawanui . I think that's all of the guys worth mentioning. They're not re-signing all of those guys. Not enough money.

Chandler would be relatively cheap.

Just noticed this great post-game photo on Buchanan's Twitter feed:

There is a 'g' in his name. There is no 'n' though. It's Siliga, as you started before saying there was no g.

worried about dobson..no word so far on injury.

They've been winning, but I have to sadly admit this is the first win in a while that I feel really good afterwards. Just a hard fought, heart felt game. I guess I'm a little spoiled?, I don't know. But I like the way I feel tonight. And I'm very happy for the team.

Great win that I didn't get to watch. You gotta love this team and the job BB has done this year. I like our chances if we can get a couple of guys like Mankins and McCourty healthy. (Get Dennard and Dobson healthy and I really like our chances). The commitment to the running game out of necessity may turn out to be a real blessing in disguise.

The negative after today is it looks like the road to the SB really will go through Denver.. Look at the AFC Playoff picture and it's pathetic-there's no other team capable of taking out the Donkeys IMO. (Don't even bring up the Bengals--they're frauds and Dalton sucks.) Now I wish Pittsburgh or the Ravens would have gotten in.

I still wish Blount would have gone through the kicker rather than around him on the first kickoff.

That has to be every kicker's worst nightmare.

Well, it's in the top 5, but I think this is even worse:

Meanwhile, Le Kevin Smith finishes Heath Evans' angle block on Mike Nugent by steamrolling him. The body language of Mike Nugent is telling you he is in a place he doesn't want to be right now.

From unoriginal's analysis of Ellis Hobbs' 109-yarder against the JEST, which is IMHO one of the best (set of) posts in the history of this forum. :rocker:

Huh? Wha? Anybody know the score? Sorry, I passed out listening to Eagle and Fouts humming their mantras during the Bills game. Is it possible that CBS could find an announcer who could fog a mirror?

I wonder if BB sees a bit of 2009 when he looks at this offense.

Wendell
Svitek
Blount
Hoomanawanui
Mulligan
Edelman
Carter
Spikes
Fletcher
Talib
Cole

Basically the list consists of Talib, Edelman, Spikes, and maybe Blount; then the usual number of bit players, some of which will be retained, some of which won't be.

If we can keep 2 or 3 of the four players (Talib, Edelman, Spikes, Blount), we should be pretty happy considering that Belichick will surely sign a couple/few of the others like Hooman, Fletcher, etc to lower paying deals, just the same as any other year.

Money will be freed up by cutting or redoing some deals, the draft and lower tier free agency will help to replace those players--just like always. We won't be able to keep everyone we want, and some short-sighted fans will be pissed, but life will go on and they'll still be highly competitive for the future.
