Indy moves ahead of us, D I bet

I'm waiting for the excuses. One prospect in particular was spread like a virus. Maybe some here will think for themselves from now on instead of following leaders...

"Spread like a virus" sounds a little strong.

I like Barwin. I still do. I tried to make arguments in support of why. Obviously, BB saw better value elsewhere. I don't particularly understand some of his logic, but IBBIT. No excuses.

pats pick coming at #58...i guess another trade.

You are right we have not addressed our ANEMIC pass rush.....this draft is typical Pats draft......no excitement and no surprises.......I know very little about Chung......BC guy........ok..........all is typical........But as you say...Pats pash rush DEFICITS have not improved.......and as we all know, hard to win a SB without getting SOME pass rush on the opposing O.........

There wasn't anyone in the draft that was going to come in and be like Jerod Mayo. Sorry guys. Anyone who thinks otherwise is high.

The way the Pats have established their pass rush is to rush from the different LB positions. They couldn't do that last year because they had a lease on Mayo. Bruschi had lost a step. Thomas was out. And Vrabel was playing injured.

can anyone tell me what we ended up getting for 23 then subsequently 26? because i liked taking monroe at that stage

That would've been tough since Monroe had been taken over a dozen picks before.

I had planned to take my forthcoming abuse with some effort at humor and gracious acceptance...your whine in this post is not encouraging to that thought process.

Your name was not mentioned -- so don't take it personal. I've had bad days also. :itsok:

I don't whine -- so be careful with your venom.

Still available:
Michael Johnson
Paul Kruger
Lawrence Sidbury, Jr.
Jasper Brinkley
Jarron Gilbert
Ricky Jean-Francois
D.J. Moore
Sean Smith

As far as a pass rusher is concerned, isn't Michael Johnson still on the board? And William Beatty too. Both would be interesting picks.

Agreed, mayo.

But, as a poster ever so succinctly pointed out, "Binkies pick you." There's a certain amount of irrationality inherent in it to begin with.

I like both Kruger and Johnson. Complete opposites, but both interesting at this point.

With the 58th pick, the Patriots select Sebastian Vollmer, OL, Houston.

On the subject of posters who promoted Barwin a lot - I really see nothing wrong with it. Don't judge them now. In fact, don't judge them at all. Judge Connor Barwin in 3 years time. If he's making Pro Bowls, they were right all along. If he's out of the league, they weren't.

I think they'll be some interesting picks for sure -- and maybe a surprise. Lots of solid developmental prospects to hope for...

I don't know why any of even try to predict what the Pats will do. BB's value chart is clearly unlike anyone else's.

Paul Kruger's gone.
