Why was it different?

There is a longer back and forth in one of the threads but Andy didn't understand why they released him so early before there actually was a need for it. I was arguing it might just be for convenience but it looks like it was a true release.

Bolden will turn 29 during the playoffs in January. It seems that he may be at least somewhat more likely to get more snaps on offense in Miami than he would with the Pats this season. Maybe that's what he's after now - just a chance to play some again before he's done.

Maybe. I mean at this point anyone who signs him does it primarily for his ST value. But maybe the Dolphins pulled a Dola and just offered him (relatively) absurd money trying to get people in who can help setting a culture. From all we know Dola and Bolden definitely were leaders.

I thought they might keep Schwenke. After losing Tobin and Bolden from the hidden roster they made the move . players are not just waiting there..

Also worth pointing out that, since he was on the 53-man roster, he's eligible to return in 8 weeks.

Even is he doesn't, the Pats start the 2019 off-season with a young WR already under their control through 2020. His 2018 cap cost is $578k, minus whatever his injury-split may be.

He was claimed by us already at almost the lowest possible waiver position (#31). Now that it is known he will have surgery why would anyone suddenly have interest ?

Interesting, another IOL. They either feel comfortable with Croston as emergency tackle or believed Tobin would still be available.
