The Eagles have made some good moves with this draft. If Eli continues to be Eli without Burress, the Eagles could win that division.

I'm going on record as saying the Eagles WILL win the division. It's going to be close, but I think they pull it out by a game or two.

A udfa type guard for Ellis Hobbs?
Seriously?

Hobbs was a starting CB, on his rookie contract, and one of the very best return men in the NFL. And the Pats get a not-projected-to-be-drafted guard? Wow.

I know they visited with him, and had interest. But over Sidbury, WR Louis Murphy, TE/etc. James Casey, OT Jamon Meredith?

Wow, a real head-scratcher.
Their evaluation of middle-round offensive linemen is confusing.

And, based on their history, very high risk.

And here we go. opcorn:

Ohrnberger was a lacrosse player in high school!

Vollmer and Ohrenberger join this recent crew:

Clint Oldenburg
Corey Hilliard
Mike Elgin
Ryan O'Callaghan
Dan Stevenson

As mid & late round draft picks on OL.

Kazcur - 3rd round
Neal - undrafted FA
Koppen - 5th round
Light - left tackle, 2nd round
O'Callaghan - 5th round
Stevenson - 5th round
Hilliard - 6th round
Elgin - 7th round

and the outlier....

Mankins, who was a guard taken in round 1

edit: fixed mistake on Kazcur

They needed to get the bad after taste out of their month from the Superbowl they lost so out goes Hobbs. Perhaps Slater is ready to be the prime time return guy.

It's all one deal...Bodden / Springs / Butler / Willhite / Weatley / even Richardson......where did Hobbs fit in??

As for the guard...I think NE has proven they know how to select OL in our system and anytime you see "mauler" next to an OL's rating, you gotta like that.

Shed no tears for EH the 3rd.........

hobbs trade is a head scratcher for me personally.

Well, if you look at the results the past three years or so for mid-round OL picks, you can question whether they have been effective.

If you include Light and Mankins, sure, looks great, but that's in the 30-45 range. Below that, lot's of unproductive picks - Hilliard, Oldenburg, Elgin, etc.

Kazcur - 5th round
Neal - undrafted FA
Koppen - 5th round
Light - left tackle, 2nd round (Albert's there already)
O'Callaghan - 5th round

Point, set, match.

I'm a Hobbs defender, but I understand it. Now, I'm not sure that they got the kind of value I'd have liked, but that's a BB issue.

The starting corners of the Patriots 2007 Super Bowl matchup against the Giants are now reunited in Philly. It should make for 2 interesting matchups per year over there.

Kazcur was actually a 2nd round pick if I remember correctly.

I'd now like to see them take Greg Toler if they can get him to add to the corner competition.

yeah..iam more wondering about two 5th rounders they got...A 3rd or 4th next yr for one of them wouldve made this this look bad. i think the eagles won this deal - for now.

I don't think Rashad Jennings has gone yet. If he's still on the board later I'd like us to take him.

How many times do I have to say it? If you want it to happen, don't talk about it!

All from one draft where in reality we had very few holes.

What do we do instead? Take a mid-round WR, something we've not had much success with? A mid-round TE, something we've not had much success with (and we also have 5 on the roster), a mid-round RB, with 5/6 on the roster?
