I haven't gone back through the rest of this thread to see this. Mallet is missing for the 2nd day in a row. Anyone else think that maybe he tweaked his knee worse than everyone thought? He came up pretty lame there after that slide in the 1st Quarter of the Redskins game. He toughed it out for the rest of the first half, and it looked like, on close ups, he was already wearing a knee brace when the game started.

Anyway, figured I'd throw that out there.

Interesting stuff. I am glad to see they are letting Butler go against 1st string guys to see what he has. They should let Tyms do the same. Personally I'd love to see Tyms out there with TFB on Friday in the first quarter. Lets see what he really has! Now is the time to find out.

I'm not sure he needs to go up against the ones, he just needs to show me can beat decent bump and run coverage, not beat Revis.

@DougKyedNESN: Brady was 10-19, INT in 11v11s, 13-16 in 7v7s. Garoppolo was 16-24 in 11v11s and 9-14, INT (off Boyce's hands) in 7v7s.

@DougKyedNESN: Jimmy Garoppolo had a nice practice for the second day in a row with Ryan Mallett absent.

Did it take a game for Jimmy G to learn how to practice?

It took one preseason game for Garoppolo to gain confidence. Meanwhile, the Mallett trade rumors can finally cease and desist.

Butler with a pick on TB12. Butler cracks me up, small scool, average size, below average athleticism (as measured) - he just makes plays.

You have to love UDFA stories, especially this one though.

Essentially, this kid:

- 2 years of highschool football
- 2 years of DII football (which is really DIII, considering the FCS)
- D- measurables for a CB (4.62 is unheard of for an NFL CB)
- No one from his college is in the NFL

Even KT, Bolden, BJGE, etc. were all D1 players and ranked in the top 500. According to this, there were 600 UDFAs better than Butler.

Really a crazy story that he could make a team with the best group of CBs in the NFL.
