Love it. 6'1" corners don't grow on trees.

And it looks like they simply chopped off the last year of his deal...he had 2/12 remaining on his 4/24 deal...now he makes 5M with 1M in incentives, IIRC.....

If Jack Jones becomes the #1 lock down corner...and we get really good #2 CB play between Jon Jones/Marcus Jones...with one of them manning the slot.....and we develop another draft pick...we could be OK at corner next FA period and make a splash elsewhere...

OR we could move Mills to safety.....he tweeted that he could do it...(shrugs)

Completely agree with your comments. Regarding another CB it's just my opinion they won't look to replace those terrible to mediocre 3 backups with rounds 1-3. We shall see.

EDIT: what other positions are the huge glaring needs in the draft? IMO they got several average players in free agency....Oline is one of them. Maybe 1-3 is Oline, possibly WR if no trade and also DE. So looking at it from that point of view...yeah it's possible 1-3 for CB or FS. @40yrpatsfan.
Given the FA's they've signed and retained, OT is the top need, then CB, WR, LB, and maybe C to replace Andrews in a year. Also it's good we have the four 6th's to draft a punter and kicker.

I’d say we definitely need another corner. The safeties are the same as last year but replace DMac with Mills, which will be a downgrade in pure talent but Mills knows the defense so can at least line the backfield up properly. Might play less single high safety this year since he won’t have the speed for it.

At CB, we’re looking at Jonathon and Jack on the outside, Marcus on the inside, Myles Bryant as the 4th guy as likely slot backup, and Shawn Wade as the 5th CB. The starters are fine but the backups are questionable, and there isn’t a lot of size there. I expect we’ll be using a very high pick (round 1 or 2) on a CB.
The starters are fine against lower quality competition. Not a single one of those guys has proven to be healthy throughout an entire season or be able to hold up against elite talent. They’ve gotta get after it and make some more moves.
