There was no 50 yard hail Mary with 2 minutes to go. The Jets got the ball with 2:14 left on an onsides kick. The drive leading up to that consisted of

11 yard pass to Gates
Penalty against SD
Penalty against SD after a 37 yard completion to Jackson
19 yard pass to Sproles
3 yard run for Rivers
Incomplete pass
12 yard pass to Jackson
1 yard TD run for Rivers

And if you can't see how Kaeding missing FGs of 36 and 40 yards (Obviously, the 57 yarder isn't a 'luck' situation on its own) adds up to luck in a 3 point Jets win, I don't know what to tell you.

ok.i guess i was off on the 50 yarder.it was the 37 yarder that you say.but to say that its not debatable is clearly a pats/love jets/hate position that you clearly are taking.not an unbiased position.

Kaeding is the NFL career leader in FG%, and he gas piped two attempts from 40 yards and less.

There's no bias in noting the Jets' luck for that game.

there are plenty of arguments to be made.too many to count.there is some luck in having your opponents miss field goals.but to place the entire victory on luck is division vival bias.

please excuse my ignorance.i am a new poster here.could you please explain why you feel the jets should have been a 7-9 team last year.i can understand and comprehend 8-8,given the fact that the colts pulled their starters midway thru the 3rd quarter.but i dont understand the 7-9 part

I just want to point out once again that the Patriots KILLED the jets the last time they played..and that was with a hurt brady and moss. Must be scary for jets fans to think whats going to happen if they play them healthy..on second thought, they honestly probably think the last game was close.
