The Jets suck (merged)

Asked these in another thread but...

1. What would Mark Sanchez have to do next season for you (and other) Patriots fans to respect him?
2. What would The Jets have to do next season for you (and other) Patriots fans to respect them?
3. Is it even possible for you (and other) Patriots fans to give the Jets or any one of their players any credit?

1) Lead the Jets to, at least, AFC East champions.
2) Win the AFC East.
3) Yes, we'll give them credit right after they win something significant (division/Superbowl).

For the entire Jets football team to hog-tie their coach and that stupid, little guy with the fireman hat and throw them off the Brooklyn Bridge and then all of the football players to follow him in like little lemmings.

That at least would be a start.

Win the AFC East, while the fans act like they've been there before. In general, any time any Jet fan has any remote sniff at success, they act like idiots. In summary, win and act classy about it.

Rivalry based threads. Obviously news threads and game threads will get the most posts, but the Jets are talked about, by far, more than any other team.

What is hilarious is all the Jet fans that keep bumping this thread, so it doesn't get burried and go away. Then some of these same fans complain about all the action a Jets' thread gets. It's fine that you're here commenting, but if you're going to keep this thread from dying, don't complain that Patriots' fans comment so much on Jets' threads.

4. Why does Rex Ryan drink vitamin water...when has he ever broken a sweat? Maybe at IHOP....

I dont respect or disrespect Sanchez or the Jets.
1)If what you mean is what would Sanchez have to do for me to think he is a good QB, then he would have to play like a good QB.
2)If you are asking what the Jets would have to do for me to consider them better than I think they are, then they would have to win 10+ games. If you are asking what they would have to do to impress me at the level you seem to think I should be that would probably take a SB win.
3) You seem to be missing the point here. The starting point is giving them credit for what they have done. You guys are trying to make a case that they are better than they have proven to be, or that their off-season moves ensure improvement and we are giving the other side.
Where has anyone not given them credit for what they have done? To say Sanchez was awful and there is no legitimate reason to have any certainty he will be better is not failing to give him credit, its failing to be hopeful that he will be more in 2010 than in 2009 without tangible reasons.

That seriously is the annoying part.
Every time the Jets win 9 or 10 games, the off-season is polluted with Jet fnas proclamations about being 'set at every position' 'loaded with talent' 'the favorite' blah, blah, blah. Jet fans off a 9-7 season brag more about how good their team is than Pat fans off a SB season. Just the way it is I guess, but since so far we have about 5-6 off seasons in the last decade where Jet fans have crowed about the passing of the torch, its kinda hard to take seriously.
Perhaps other teams fans are the same way, but they dont come here and argue arrogantly how mediocre is excellence.

The Pats won the AFC East, had a top-five offense, have one of the best, if not the best, QBs in the game right now, won three SB Championships in the last ten years, and have a head coach with a proven track record and yet they don't get respect from a lot of Pats fans. The bar is set high for respect, so don't expect 9-7 with a turnover-prone QB to impress overly much around here.

Maybe when the jets actually do something, they can get respected...but they havent, and they suck.

I agree...with the earning respect part. I think this team is getting wayyyy too much hype this year. They have the potential to be great, no doubt, but they were very inconsistent last year and only really played complete solid games in the first two playoff games. They had a good first quarter vs Indy and then Peyton went to work and dissected the D.

I'm as hopeful as I ever have been since following the Jets but there are no sure things in the NFL.

Lets not forget guys..the jets sucks...WE CAN NEVER FORGET.

1. Have a statistically better year, something at least similar to Eli Manning, rather than numbers similar to Jamarcus Russell whose rookie numbers were better than Sanchez's rookie numbers.

2. They could start by talking less and becoming more proactive in downplaying the hype. Be better than the next guy but don't let them know it is a good mantra. "Talk" gives opponents incentive.

3. Well, let's see. Reveis is a great player. Rex is a bombastic clown; he'd think that is a compliment. Sanchez couldn't beat out John David Booty at USC so I guess he outperformed his predictions last year. How's that?

Interesting that this thread is still going, but I'm glad it is. I was just thinking the other day how much I loathe the Green Beans from top to bottom -- from Woody Johnson all the way down to their cretinous fan base. I saw Jenkins interviewed on NFLN last night and the fat slob was dancing on camera, flapping his gums about how fired up LaClassian is, :blahblah::blahblah: . The whole culture around that franchise is obnoxious and foul, like a massive, room-clearing Jabba Wrecks fart. No redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Methinks that's being generous. . . .

The jets suck 'cause Cryassarus Rex is a coach version of Jones' Cowboys. Sayin every year they'll beat everyone and are SB contenders, yet again they fail either at the end (ex. Jests 2009 season) or long before Playoffs.
