This is simply not true. Once upon a time, your franchise was Charlie Brown too. Now that you've become Lucy, I imagine it's hard to remember the "good grief" years. If The Jets went on a tear like the Pats did, I'd try and forget too. Until that happens, until they win, we keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, for Lucy to pull that damn football away even though we're sure we're gonna kick it this time. Some idiots might come on here chests out, talking smack, but they're new, and just don't get it. Someday we'll win, and I hope we act better than the rest of the country expects us to. We're not all NY/NJ trash, just like you're not all M*******s. Some are, and those are the ones that stick out, but most aren't.

No, you wont..you really wont.

The dumbass content in the Jets fan base is like Ivory Soap. It's 99 44/100% pure.

No, it's a 300 page thread on how the Jets suck. Also, it's supposed to be laughable. That's the intent.

Jets fans are Jets fans for life because no other team wants them. It has nothing to do with bandwagons, or the Steelers and Cowboys, or any of that nonsense. The Giants pull their fan base from the same area as the Jets, and that fan base despises Jets fans, too.

The American Psychiatric association should declare Jets fandom a mental disease, or at least study it as a significant disorder.

While it is funny, I was 100% serious when I made this thread..the jets really do suck.

They named them "Jets" because prospective fans couldn't spell "Airplanes" or "Green Beans." They're so proud of the fact they can actually spell something (anything), they shout it in unison and actually spell it out one letter at a time at home games. It makes them feel smarter than they really are.

you sure?

I was in bed this morning thinking about next Monday's game: we'll be facing a tough opponent and overall classy organization with a superb quarterback and a brilliant, modestly self-effacing head coach. Then I realized I was dreaming. And then, I realized I was having a nightmare about being a Green Beans fan. Ed the Angry Fire Elf was stalking me, constantly screaming "J-E-T-S!" in my ear. Jabba Wrecks threatened to sit on me. I was trapped on a special needs bus with ******ed drunk people in green jerseys driving in endless circles around the new Giants Stadium. Then, to my great relief, I woke up, drenched in sweat but once again secure in the knowledge that THE GREEN BEANS SUCK. Thank God for reality.

The following praise of Rex Ryan is sincere and devoid of sarcasm:

The only ring Rex will ever earn is a testament to gluttony and is wrapped around his stomach. He doesn’t have the discipline to control his own appetite, let alone a football team.

I think it'll be the one around his bathtub. Which begs the question, was his bathtub custom made?

If jet fans are obnoxious and insulting what does that make this thread?

I don't know...what is a "lions fan" BTW...never heard of one...

I could see this thread really gaining some traction and growing into a long lasting ongoing discussion.

Type "the Jets suck" on Google and this thread is on page one.

More posts...the truth must be known.

I can't believe this thread is about to hit 3,000 posts. I remember the first post like it was yesterday. And, to think, we're about to hit 3,000 posts and we've barely scratched the surface on the subject of how much the Jets truly suck.

It's true. We've made statements, but I think if we actually explored the components of the Jets suckage, the server would asplode.

In other news, I like your avatar. He utters my favorite line from the movie: "It vexes me. I am terribly vexed." Gold.

''My history's a little hazy, but didn't the barbarians LOSE the battle of Carthage?''

To this day, that movie (and that movie alone) is the only reason why I feel bad for Joaquin Phoenix. He out-acted Russell Crowe... and by some margin. I hope he sobers up and resurrects his acting career.

Excellent ... and scarily accurate.

More than any of Ryan's brash proclamations, what rankles Belichick is his second-half success against the Patriots. Under Belichick no team has been better at making halftime or in-game adjustments than the Patriots, but in the three meetings with Ramblin' Rex and the Jets, the Patriots have scored a total of seven points after halftime and been shut out twice, including the teams' first meeting this season.

Here is what the Patriots have done offensively against Ryan and the Jets in the second half of the teams' three meetings:

Sept. 2009 -- 0 second-half points, 102 yards of offense in the second half.
Nov. 2009 -- 7 second half points, 138 yards of offense in the second half. (The touchdown was set up by a Mark Sanchez interception that gave the Patriots the ball at the Jets' 25).
Sept. 2010 -- 0 second-half points, 80 yards of offense in the second half.

Belichick was asked about this earlier this week, and he started fidgeting behind the dais and tersely deflected away the question. Ryan's comments don't get under his skin, but the perception that the Jets are better adjusted than the Patriots does.

The Patriots' fearless leader has lost as many times to Ryan (twice) as he did to former protege Eric Mangini in seven games against the Jets, and for one of those Mangini defeats, he had Matt Cassel at quarterback and not Tom Brady.

Yeah, Russell Crowe got the Oscar because he got snubbed for his great performance in The Insider. The whole "weird Joaquin" thing was supposedly a hoax. I think he even admitted that his whole shtick was an act to promote his film project or some such. He's very much still in the scene, but probably not looking all that mainstream these days.
