Does Norv have all the top secret plays locked up? Has he found a bunker worthy of holding the precious play calls? Will he relay the plays to his players who can than use thier secret decoder rings to decipher? Will Andrea Kramer again, breathlessly, report what is going on? These are very important questions we need answers to.

LOL I had forgotten about that...

He's probably got snipers and tape sniffing dogs patrolling the hills overlooking his practice field even as we speak. They'll be scanning the charter plane for listening devices prior to boarding. And forget about a walk through once they get here...let alone half time adjustments, no time for those what with the pre and post halftime security sweeps in the VLR.

Funny **** and no doubt one of the top / important topics beaten to death by the media!

ignorant question: what is the real originally story about Norv's paranoid security?

That pretty much is the story. He wouldn't reveal the plays to the players until an hour or two before game time. He kept them locked up because BB is a cheater. It was hysterical. Simmons had a funny snippet on it, let me see if I can find it.

man, I'm fast. Here is the quote from one of his picks columns.

Speaking of San Diego, I loved this e-mail from Tommy in Worcester, Mass.: "Just thought you'd be curious as to the Super Duper Triple Secret 15 Scripted Plays that Norv Turner kept locked in a hermetically sealed vault guarded by the Secret Service, as reported by Andrea Kremer, a script so secret that he'd only tell his players right before the game: Here are the 15 plays of sheer offensive genius:

"1) Throw interception to Colvin left
"2) Run Tomlinson off left tackle for 2 yards
"3) Throw incomplete pass down the right side to Davis
"4) Throw left to Gates short of the first down
"5) Punt
"6) Run Tomlinson off left guard for 2 yards
"7) Run Tomlinson off left guard for 8 yards
"8) Run Tomlinson off right guard for 2 yards
"9) Run Tomlinson up the middle for 4 yards
"10) Sweep Tomlinson right for minus-1 yards
"11) Throw left to Jackson for 14 yards
"12) Get sacked by Colvin, and fumble
"13) Run Tomlinson off left guard for 3 yards
"14) Throw right to Tomlinson for 6 yards
"15) Run Tomlinson off left guard for 0 yards

"Play 16 was a punt. Norv's offensive genius is just stunning, I'm amazed the Patriots survived that game."

How did I forget that SportsGuy column that week! Good ****! ...Best of SportsGuy is his detailed analysis (off the wall analysis I should say) on his weekly picks against the spread & how his wife smoked him by picking them out of a hat practically!

The story aired just before the Pats-Chargers game. It is discussed here. http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/sullivan/20070915-9999-1s15sullivan.html Largely, Turner said the Pats had a reputation for deceptive practices so extra precautions were required (such as the posting of security personnel in the locker room and securing the gameplan). A goofy statement that became ridiculous after they got blown away in the second week.
