This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

Nah, I think Pryor will be the starting QB. He will sell more jerseys. West Coast Tebow.

.... and knowing this they still released McNight. The last thing I want to see is Leon Washington cut and resigning with the Jets. It was a good day when he left our division.

OTOH, it's not like he'll be able to help. Nevermind.

Bad week for the Jets.

Clowney's impossible to obtain, give up the pipedreams now ausbacker.

1. The most Clowney will fall to is pick 3. (Bridgewater and if Manziel has an undefeated, 2nd Heisman season)

2. Realistically, what's the lowest were drafting, pick 24?

The Saints traded from the 12th spot to the 5th spot for Ricky Williams. In order to do that, they traded their 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, a future 1, and a future 3.

To get from 24 to 3, we would need to trade 1-7 and like three future 1s. Screw that.

I hope the Jets draft Clowney, ensuring another season they will be without a franchise QB, and therefore, of course, suck!

Might want to look at some other trades that were made as the Ricky Williams trade was dumb from the get go. IIRC< Ditka went public early stating that he'd trade the Saints entire draft to take Williams.

St Louis gave away the #2 pick for the #6, plus 2 first round picks in 13 and 14, plus a 2nd.

Bill trades back in the first round fairly often from what it seems, so it might not be bad idea to move up again for Clowney.

on another note.......

Santonio Holmes' return to practice an encouraging sign for Jets | NJ.com

how about your likely starting QB curling up in a ball and sucking his thumb?

Geno Smith, who is still competing with Sanchez to land the starting quarterback job, said Holmes has assured he will be ready to play Week 1 of the regular season.

“He tells me all the time that ‘I’m going to be ready,’ but I don’t know,” Smith said. “We’ll see when that day comes.”

I'm starting to think that at some point the title of this thread will need to be changed: The 2013 season: The Jets suck (even more than usual)

Solution Start Tebow at QB this season!

OK, OK. I admit I'm a hypocrite after criticizing everyone else for injecting QB3 into threads. I just couldn't stop myself.

Jets announced they signed K Dan Carpenter, whom they went after last week, and cut K Billy Cundiff
.

Thanks for the game-winning kick dude!

Actually, was kind of funny reading the telling of the Cundiff winning kick on the Jets' site (this was before Cundiff was, you know, cut).

One kick doesn't figure to decide the battle, but for history's sake it must be noted that Cundiff, not Folk, got the walkoff winner. It was the first preseason Jets field goal to win a game in the last two minutes of regulation or OT since Mike Nugent beat the Eagles at Philly with a 35-yarder at the final gun in regulation for the 13-11 win in 2007.

yeah, don't underestimate the historical significance of that kick to win the big pre-season game. Woo hoo!

I see people talking about a certain defensive player who would seem to make an excellent partner for Mr. Jones.

Oakland should end up picking #1, and they need all kinds of picks and players. If BB was willing to pay the king's ransom, the Raiders are just the sort of team that might bite on the offer.

The look on the faces of Jets fans when such a trade and selection was announced would be well worth the loss of an entire draft, and even a little more.

Is this the same McKnight all the Jet fans were holding up as proof that Woodhead was soo expendable and they hadnt really lost a thing when we picked him up?

I'll post it here as it seems like as good a place as any, but can we seriously get any luckier with our first two opponents? Both the Jets and Bills (division rivals, no less) are in disarray and QB hell less than 2 weeks before the season starts. What better opponents for our new-look O to test themselves out against? If we don't kill both of these teams, then shame on us for not being ready to take advantage of some serious misfortune on the other side.

Fortunately, the Raiders have not shown themselves to be terribly demanding trade partners when it comes to the Pats...

"Okay, we'll take your first round pick for ours... but we want your sixth too! (that'll show 'em...)"

Find a way. You find a way!

I ask this question seriously: what possible enjoyment do Green Beans fans anticipate from the 2013 season? Think about it. I can't imagine actually looking forward to, and investing hard-earned money in, this impending 17-week train wreck. The head coach, who should have been fired immediately after the last preseason game, has checked out. The entire organization from owner to fan base is clueless. This team has become the largest exercise in group masochism I've ever seen.

Has he done that before? What a miserable excuse for a human being. I wonder if he was the one banned not long ago, trying to characterize the Pats as a "circus" because of Hernandez. Whoever this idiot was, his parting shot was hoping for a long period of Pats losing after Brady is gone. Funny how he was trying to project his own pathetic suffering onto us.
