The 2012 season: the Jets [Mod Edit: STILL] suck

sparano in miami...jets fans making all sorts of fun of him...

now hes in NY..they will have a top 10 O..don't get it

I love how they think he is going to develop Sanchez into an elite QB when Sparano has never even developed a decent QB. Tony Romo was a product of Todd haley who was in charge of the passing offense while Sparano was in charge of the running game.

Just a little something from a few months back:

With the New York Jets' rocky season barely in the rear-view mirror, the team's leadership is still dealing with the fallout. Addressing season-ticket holders in a conference call Friday, coach Rex Ryan said one problem may have been the complicated nature of the offensive system implemented by former coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.

"Quite honestly, the verbiage that we had last season was probably a little much," Ryan said, according to the New York Daily News.

The possible benefits of Sparano’s system — tight end Dustin Keller believes it can be “unstoppable” — also bring added responsibility, however. The quarterback and his targets must be on the same page for the passing game to work.
Each player must know each play from the protection outward, and receivers, running backs and tight ends must read blitzing players and the coverage the same way as the quarterback.
“There’s a lot put on the quarterbacks and receivers, and it’s our job to see things the same and to see the coverage the same,”
Sanchez explained. “It could adjust a route, could change up the timing of a route, and those are the most important things. Coach Sparano is not shy about putting the emphasis on that to make sure our communication is perfect.”

And here's what McElroy had to say recently about the Sparano offense:

McElroy did an informative Q&A session with the Star-Ledger’s Jenny Vrentas, who does an excellent job on the Jets beat.

The 24-year-old quarterback was asked what some of the differences are between Sparano’s system compared to Schottenheimer’s system, and McElroy, like many of his teammates, pointed to the simplicity of it.

You can get in and out of the huddle faster,” he said. “I think a big part of what coach Sparano is wanting to do is increase tempo and run more plays, so maybe by having less words, then it really helps as far as getting out of the huddle. Last year, we might tag eight different routes, there’s six or seven different guys on things in the play call, where it would just get a little wordy at times. It’s just a lot easier getting in and out of the huddle and everybody knowing what to do.”

Although the actual verbiage of the play calls is simpler, that doesn’t mean that the plays themselves are lacking.

We have just as many plays [as last year's playbook] if not more,” McElroy mentioned, “but as far as the amount of words that are said in the huddle, it is significantly less.”

So basically, last year's offense was too complicated, but this year's offense will be just as complicated, but simpler. Got it?

this really is quite simple...you got Mark Sanchez...you got Santonio Holmes..you got oil and water...and then you want to pour Tebow gasoline on everything...what you get is "Bonfire Of The Inanities"...there will be so much smoke rising from the Meadowlands that thousands of tribal Sioux will answer the smoke signals looking for the great White Buffalo and end up scalping Wrecks Cryan....

so...one of our good Jet fan buddies here, Gunnails, goes out of his way to correct a fellow Pats fan as to the correct spelling of Carl's last name...and in true Jet fan fashion, he "Og Jtse!" 's the whole thing up...God, I LOVE Jet fan...the Charlie Browns of the NFL....

.....no....it is not....it IS Yastrzemski

NOW you really know the true story....

I know this is OT in a JEST suckage thread, but that actually explains a lot. . . .

Tebow is like komodo dragon saliva. If Sanchize so much as loses one end-of-game opportunity to him and he does his "come through on one drive every game" kind of thing, the crowd will go wild, the players will sing hosannahs, the angels will sing, the clouds will part, and the damage will be done. It takes only the tiniest little Tebow performance and the slime gets into the wound, starts to grow, and the whole team rots from the inside within 6 weeks.

Then God himself reaches down to move Tebow to #1 on the depth chart, and they go through the whole "the kid's a winner, you need a full season so see what you really have" reality show again... and the JEST are a season and a half further from their goal. Again.

Well, except for the Summer months, when they win their super bowls.

Not only is this the wrong thread for such a sentiment to be expressed, but apparently you missed or ignored the good reasoning in other threads this past week that would indicate a Jets decline this year.

They did not have an "awesome" defense last year nor is there a good reason reason to predict one for this year. The "improvement" on both sides of the ball would seem to be unfounded speculation based on who has left the Jets and their rather meager additions.

I will agree that the Jets are Patriots in reverse. The Patriots made strides on both sides of the ball and the Jets have fallen off on both sides of the ball.

Last year the Jets defense gave up more points than the Pats defense and were waaaaaay behind in points scored. I think we can call that awesome.

You can expect to be contacted shortly by lawyers for the estate of the late Charles Schulz.

Somebody needs to go to a Jets board and inform them that we have a new OC as well, so we expect just as much of an improved offense.

That prediction doesn't surprise me, Prisco is an idiot. 9-7*, mark my words. The decline of Tom Brady will come quicker than most people realize. I've been watching this game for a long time and have an eye for these things. I said it before and I'll say it again: Sanchez will have a better 2012 than Brady.

At this point, it's as if they're making idiotic posts just to get mentioned over here.

Haven't checked this thread in a while but I see the Jets still suck.

It's really hard to take Jets fans claims about TB's diminishing skills seriously since they seem to have been singing that tune since the start of the 09 season. >_>

Actually they started saying that in 2002.

Jets fans:

Now THIS...THIS is a perfect example of the power of the Jets Suck thread to raise the work of a poster from mere good to positively fantastic, must read material.
