Content Post The 2012 season: the Jets [Mod Edit: STILL] suck

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

I'd enjoy McElroy lighting it up and getting a few TD's because I keep telling a Jets fan I know he's the best QB they have and like all Jets fans he's full of excuses for Sanchez it was Schottys fault, it's a new offense, Wayne Hunter is rubbish etc.

"Our veterans are more mature...." Ah, ok, the veterans got older or are not as childish?

Well, some of them got some leadership training yesterday!

I don't come around here often, but why the preoccupation with the Jets? They're a mediocre team who don't merit any attention at all.

I find myself horribly conflicted as the Jets approach their last preseason game. I can't figure out which is the more appropriate fate:

  1. Have McElroy successfully lead a TD drive, indicating that the best QB on the roster may not see any playing time at all during the regular season.
  2. Have the Jets fail to score a TD at all, and suffer the ignominious fate of being the worst preseason offense of all time.
Both of these seem worthy, but which is more so? I can't decide—and clearly both can't happen in our universe at the same time. (Or can they? Is the Jets' suck really that powerful?)

Option 1 is the best. No one remembers pre-season records, so the worst-preseason ever might get lost in the annals of history.

Option 1 shows how clueless the organization and fans are.

Just as they didn't know what they had in Danny Woodhead, and just as they'll come to realize that Shotty couldn't make chicken salad out of chicken ****, and just as they'll eventually realize that Rex was NOT the best thing to ever happen to their franchise, if McElroy outshines Sanchize, they'll be forced to admit that they have no clue about the NFL and what it takes to be a winning NFL team....

....and where a player was drafted is not important once they are in the NFL, it's how they perform. Getting former high draft picks like Aaron Maybin and Jason Smith, who were dumped by their former teams, are not likely to be diamonds that only need Rex's superior coaching skills to bring out, and just because you drafted a guy #5 overall, doesn't necessarily mean that he is better than the 7th rounder.

Rats fans like to try and discredit BB's accomplishments by saying that he lucked into a 6th round HOF QB, if the Rats had drafted Brady, they would not be the ones to be reaping the benefit, as they would never have kept a mere 6th round pick as a 4th string QB with such a low pedigree.

A smarter team would have just signed Brady of of their practice squad, and they'd have yet one more reason to bemoan thier misfortunes.

Loud and stupid is great entertainment.

Nationwide, more people know the name "Ryan Leaf" than they know "Drew Bledsoe".

Got it.

As a Jets fan, I just look forward to the day when the circus finally leaves town.

And behold, McElroy has a touchdown pass to his credit. $5 million on Sanchez and Tebow, and their $500K 3rd stringer is the one to get them to the endzone. Gotta love it.

And if you took "3 games, 1 quarter, and 6 minutes" as "the length of time the Jets need to score a touchdown in the preseason," congratulations! You've won your pool.

And the Jets still suck.

McElroy was my backup for Brady QB binky in the 2010 draft...

I'm conflicted about seeing him perform well. Not sure if that is the faster way than sucking to find himself out of work in the swamp or not...

He's the best QB on THAT team...the Jets suck

3rd string QB gets the TD. This is gold hahaha

Looking forward to the death of Woody Johnson is a pretty nasty sentiment.

To be fair their D can be the top one this yr in AFC. Very good secondary and good pass rush , they will he hard to score on.

I was hoping that he'd perform well, but that his receivers would drop all of his passes.

But seriously folks, McElroy could very well be the best QB on that team.

THIS guy HAS TO BE Gastineau himself...nobody is THIS cracked...

What r you talking about? How did the not "execute plays"? Sanchez would have completed 80% of his passes this preseason if it wasn't for a few drops.

EIGHTY PER CENT!!!...heh...with 50 TD's!!!...oh...wait...

My prediction is their current 201 minute touchdown interval will drop at least 3 minutes on average when Sparano installs his wildcat.

Their pass rush has been inconsistent thus far this preseason and they had no pass rush last year. Let's wait and see on that one.

The more I see and watch this team, it seems less about winning football games and more of an effort to make the back page(or front page) of the NY Daily News..

Like a Broadway musical.. lots of glitter, no real substance, but when you walk away you smile..

Any publicity is good publicity..
