(I particularly LOVE the Jet fan when he's in "beastin!!! mode)

..."I can throw better than this azzole, Sanchez!!!"...

Thats child abuse, turning you kid into a rats fan. He'll have real issues when he grows up. Years from now when hes watching the rats with the rest of the jest losers in the Big House he may think if only my dad hadn't turned me into a rats fan I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it. It was you dad, it was you.

I did that monologue some years back in acting class..,.."So what happens? He gets the title shot outdoors in the ballpark and what do I get? A one-way ticket to Palooka-ville! You was my brother, Charley, you shoulda looked out for me a little bit. You shoulda taken care of me just a little bit so I wouldn't have to take them dives for the short-end money."...is there any doubt "Palookaville" is the Meadowlands and the fate of all Jet fans is eventual descent into pure green palookas...each and every one

Jets WR S. Holmes has a lisfranc injury to his left foot. Still unclear if it's broken, but is 99% likely out for the season.

I want front row tickets to Titanic 2. I'll take Joker as my plus 1.

This makes Octo Dad the best CB and best WR on his team.
Mind blowing.

I feel for Holmes, because that's a bad injury to have. On the bright side for him, he'll be able to watch the collapse along with the rest of us. Given his apparent feelings towards Sanchez, that should give him some comfort.

Harris is scheduled to make a base salary of more than $10 million, so he'd be a prime candidate for a radical salary cut/restructure or a release, because he seems to be declining.

By declining, do you mean being exactly the same dime-a-dozen linebacker he was when they threw a brinks truck at him? The moves that Rexy and Tannenbaum made were so horrendously bad from a cap standpoint that it will take years just to be able to start fresh. No young player development, a bunch of long-term mega deals to players like Sanchez, Holmes, and Harris, and not even any role players in the mold of Cotchery or Ellis. Even their star players quickly became neutralized from a cap standpoint, as Revis and Mangold are great but paid like they were signed in a free agent bidding war. I literally struggle to find a single player on that team that is outplaying his contract.

From Rotoworld:

Two people who "know how (Jets owner Woody Johnson) runs his football operation" told ESPN New York that Johnson will "push his football people to start (Tim) Tebow."

There's no hard evidence Johnson is fixing to meddle with the Jets' lineup, but this is the same owner who pushed for Brett Favre in 2008. Johnson was guarded in his Monday vote of confidence in Mark Sanchez, and volunteered that questions about Tebow taking over will "be asked more frequently if this progresses because this is unacceptable playing." Already a slow train coming, Tebow supplanting Sanchez could become a formality if Sanchez's start against the Texans goes as poorly as it should on paper.

I can hear Woody, now:

"Rex, you need to put in Tebow now because we need PSLs.... Um... TDs."

The Jets window of opportunity closed so fast no one barely new it was open to begin with

I'll say one positive thing about the jets...

I really love their cheerleaders

Carlos Rogers says the Jets quit on Rexy in the second half:

“It kinda seemed like, after a while they just, I know, looking at their defense, they didn't want to be out there,” said Rogers on Sirius XM radio today. “And after that it's like, man, these guys don't really want to play the game. You know, it's pretty much over.

"You could see it happening,” Rogers said. “It kinda shocked me just because, you know, a lot of guys were saying on the sideline, ‘Oh, they don't want to tackle, they don't want to do this, they don't want to do that.' That's a Rex Ryan defense. That's a Rex Ryan team.

Rogers said it was out of character for a Ryan defense to behave that way.

“His defense, you know, plays throughout. And that was the shocking point about it.... It really kind of shocked me to see that them guys were ready to go get in the showers."

Ray Ray is giving us pearls....

Thread title:

Holmes out, is this what Sanchez really needed? Eli/Schockey Part II?

Eli Manning's career pretty much took off when Schockey was no longer in the picture, it was about at that time when Manning didn't have a player in his ear pressuring him to get him the ball...

Looking back, this has been one of the major issues for Sanchez going back to last year, and really, a lot can be made about how both Holmes and Burress were the TRUE reasons why this offense imploded last year, why the selfishness reigned, why the team faltered at the end of the year.

Could the loss of Holmes be exactly what Sanchez and this offense needed?

"In my day, we held our goddamn snacks like this. And another thing: we never believed you needed offense to win. That's what I taught my boy, Wrecks -- offense is for wimps. I said, 'Wrecks, I don't want you or Rob to mess around with offense. Too many prima donnas.' I'm proud that my boys don't know a lick about offense and leave that to other idiots. Like, that Sparano goofball."

So the Jest have Revis and Butthead go down and they sign a RB?!? I understand that the level of stupidity for that team is unsurpassed, but this seems idiotic.

Perhaps it means that Tebow is moving from punt protector to quarterback.
