AFC East is there for the taken - TheGangGreen.com Message Board

Yes, this Jets fan is totally correct... I heard all four teams were there for the taken... 2 premiere screening in Hollywood. Heard they even got to meet Liam Neeson!
They have at least one major problem to over come and it doesn't look good for them.

Rex is only upset that that photo wasn't full body. :snob:

I saw that. It seems to be a general perception by Jets fans that getting blown out by the Steeler with injuries all over the place is a more impressive feat than losing to the Cards on a missed field goal. I think they are overrating the Steelers who look to be a bit of a mess right now with their depleted o-line, RB corp, and defense. I also think they are underestimating the Cards.

Of course if Sanchez played the Liam Neeson role in Taken, they would have had to revised the script a bit:

"But what I don't have are a very particular set of skills; skills I haven't acquired over a three year career. A lack of skills that make me a nightmare for people like Jets fans."

Yes I know we look bad against the Steelers and lost. But the Pats looks worse then we do. They can't protect Brady. Plus Hernadenz is out 4-6 weeks I hear.To be honest I think the Pats right now are the 3rd best team in afc east.

I called it before the season that the Pats would finish 3rd in AFC E behind Jets & Bills

pure....gold....yes

Now if Rex took the role:

"I don't know who you are. But I will find you....

And I will rub your feet."

Sanchez is 5th in the league right now in Total QBR.

Tom Brady? 23rd.

I'm beginning to think Mark Sanchez is a lot like Tom Brady.
Focused and determined... but one big hit and he's out of the game.

Sanchez has been better with turnovers thus far. This will be the most critical thing.

Yup, he's exactly like Brady. This is the same guy who once said the Jets need to ride out Sanchez for a decade, because he's the best they've ever seen.

LOL! Forbes rank three Jets in their top ten overpaid players list. David Harris is number one, Santonio Holmes is number 5, and Antonio Cromartie is number 7.

The funny thing is that Jets fans will tell you that Harris is far better than Mayo. I just don't see it. Harris when he is playing at his top level, he is more of a playmaker than Mayo. But Harris is wildly inconsistent.

How does Miami stack up vs. the Green Beans? I haven't been paying any attention to the Dolphins. I assume New Jersey will win this one with defense. Here's hoping for an unseasonably hot day in Florida helping to enable a Dolphins victory.

Apparently, the Jets doctors prescribed a healthy regiment of Petron and grapefruit to Revis to cure his concussion problems:

Meanwhile, a sports bar called Bounce located on West 21st street in Manhattan was packed for the football game with both Jets and Steelers fans. Arguably the biggest Jet fan in the bar was Jets all-pro cornerback Darelle Revis. Wearing a Memphis Grizzlies hat, the injured shut down corner was reportedly nursing his concussion on his own little Revis "Tropical Island" with multiple Patron and grapefruits on the rocks. We are scouring the internet to find out if Tequila is a "home remedy" for concussion symptoms, but we can't find anything.

This sums up the Jets fans' thinking perfectly:

I like Rex,

He has been a breath of fresh air for this hapless organization. 2 AFCCG in 3 years, The Jets have not sniffed that game since 98. Took them 11 years to get back to it and before that it took 17. If it was not for Cromartie's inability to tackle Victor Cruz. He would have had a 3rd chance. Herm had a shot, but his stubbornness to get a few extra yards with Jordan cost him a chance at the Patriots.

So before Rex it took The Jets 28 years to go to AFCCG game twice it took Rex 2 to equal that total.

It was Rex that got The Jets back to that game. Indy may have laid down, but he still had to win 2 playoff games to get to that game in both years.

What head coach have the Jets had in 42 years that has given them the chance to do what Rex has done in 3. To give Parcells a pass, he may have done it, if Vinny does not go down, game 1 in '99. May have to give Michaels a pass also if he was not drunk on a plane. He also may have had a shot.

I have the answer, None.

Cut the dude some slack. He is the best coach this organization has had since Parcells. There were 4 in the middle if you include 1 day Belichick.

If everyone hates Rex so much who would you bring in ?

You can't quite hate that sentiment, but it explains a lot. Rex is the best they've ever seen. Sanchez is the best they've ever seen (lol). Give them both a pass for the next decade, we don't want to start over.

Even Revis can't stomach watching the Jets while sober!

Getting lucky when the Colts and Bengals phoned in the end of the 2009 season has warped the thinking of a lot of the Jets fans. Of course, it was already warped to start with...
