I can't recall a Kraft appreciation thread so I figured WTF. I posted most of this in another thread but felt it was worthy of its own. I would like to take the time to thank Mr Kraft and his family for saving the franchise from moving to St. Louis, building a state of the art Stadium (with your own money), turning the Patriots into the model franchise in the NFL and becoming a leader among the owners.


In the 12 completed seasons since you bought the team, the Pats have:

8 Playoff appearances
6 Division titles
4 AFC Championships (for Tune)
4 SB appearances
3 SB victories
9 winning seasons
1 8-8 season
2 losing seasons
Missed the playoffs in consecutive years only once.
Missed the Playoffs 4 times
Compiled a 13-5 Playoff record
117-75 Regular season record
Won 10 or more games in 7 seasons

If we include what we know from this year you can add:

10 winning seasons

Most likely:
9 Playoff appearances
7 Division titles
Won 10 or more games in 8 seasons

Statistically the Pats have done the following since you bought the team:

Participated in 33% of the SB's
Won 17% of all AFC playoff games played.
Played in 23% of all AFC playoff games played
Won 50% of the Division Titles

A thoughtful Happy Holidays card to the Kraft family.

I would point out that they tied, ON THE FIELD, @ 9-7, for another AFCE title and lost out on tiebreakers.

Not that it really matters to the Patriots now, but before his ownership, that would have been ballyhooed since the had won only 2 DIVISION titles in their 30 odd year existence. So a tie for a Division Title would have meant something to the fans....

Nice post and VERY true.....stop and think what the Krafts have done for all of us fanatical New England patriot fans...we can now be very proud of our team.

well I do what I can.

Its amazing that anyone who rooted for this team prior to 1993 could ***** and moan not to mention call Kraft cheap. I guess that is what truly pisses me off. I understand the fans who think a position could upgraded or the team played like complete **** last week, but I can't understand a fan thinking that Kraft didn't spend to cap because he wanted to "Line his own pockets". Here is guy who gave Drew Bledsoe one of the richest contracts in the history of the NFL and he has openly admitted that if it weren't for BB he would have signed a lot of the fan favorites because he follows the team with as much emotion as we do. People need to understand that he is a FAN, a more controlled version of Mark Cuban, if you will.
