The impatience here always surprises me.

Any rebuild is going to have losing seasons. In Bill's case, 2 in a row.

But to go into an NFL season with losses of assistants and a QB who is beyond horrific, that's not going to work for any coach.

Belichick would have hade success here again if it weren't for our megalomaniac owner.
This has nothing to do with impatience re the present setup. We are discussing evaluation of the former head coach. Until the very end, the Krafts allowed Bill to do largely as he wished. The Krafts had nothing whatever to do with Bill's horrific drafting nor with his decision to hire two clueless pals to coach the team.

Mayo is a different matter. I am indeed impatient (or recommending of a proactive approach) with respect the the current coaching group (and the GM). All I hear re them are excuses and asinine murmuring about how firing a first-year coach is "just not done." Nonsense. If a guy blows, you fire him. When I ask for any evidence that Mayo et al are up to the job, I have yet to hear a damned thing from anybody.

Mac Attack Right in the arms of the defender

Kraft has everything to do with it.

He's the one who undermined Belichick repeatedly.

Kraft thinks ay too highly of himself.

The evaluation of Belichick looks at the rebuild, the lack of QB, and what he was dealing with.

Mac does it again!!! Game ending INT

We really missed out on a Mac/Mayo comedy duo.
You cannot win with a QB like him.

Still dinking and dunking. Jones is a threat to nobody.

No, he would NOT have. Because Bill Belichick (including his entourage) SUCKS now.

Every Other Team in the NFL has told him to Take a ****ing hike. And for good reason.

It was Always gonna be Bill's way or the highway; and No owner in his right mind would accept that.

And who's fault is that?
QBs bust all the time. All 5 busted in that draft. So go ahead blame the GM but that's not going to fix your QB problem. And you're not going to win without a decent one. We've been here before; we've cycled through QBs. Same old same old.

Because he's old.

You guys are now seeing how coaching in the NFL feels after 2 decades + of competency.

This is how it is for almost all the other teams.

This is the new normal. Get used to it.

I agree with that last part. Finding the right guy at coach is not easy.

Ask Buffalo fans about Chan Gailey, **** Jauron and Mike Mularkey.

Wish we weren't so quick to flush another GOAT

23 years and .426 post Brady is quick?
23 years post Brady might be hanging on too long but only 4 was way too quick. You already hate the new staff how many more staffs before you realize we shouldn't have been so quick and that there are not enough good coaches for each team and getting rid of a GOAT was not very bright?

I am sure we wouldn't see the clownish gaffes from Bill that Mayo is making but a 5 year decline ending up with 4-13 is plenty of sample size to show the football team was going the wrong way. Bill's not immune to what would happen to any coach in those circumstances.

You are correct that the Patriots may be on the coaching merry go round right now and that's not a great place to be. Look at our division while Brady was here...

The question should not have been what Kraft thought about those 5 years. It should always have been what was more likely the following year/s. And wether it was Mayo or Ben Johnson it was still more likely that Bill would be successful once he found the right the QB then the next HC being good and the next GM finds that QB.

Luckily that next GM may have found the QB but we are still screwed because the HC is not good. Maybe Bill doesn't find that QB and we are screwed anyway but there were way less variables to deal with had we just given Bill one more year.

And what really baffles me is completely ignoring the blue print we used for our hiring process last time in favor of all first timers. Last time our HC/GM had previous HC experience and decades of experience as an assistant. And he came with coordinators with decades of experience. Any one of those 3 hires last time singularly came with more experience than our current HC, OC, and DC have combined.

It's borderline insanity.
