So, so much of it is phony and contrived. Nearly all of them now express made-up viewpoints and spew stuff they really don't believe just to generate listeners and calls. The more outrageous, the better.

When the Red Sox were in first place about a week ago, Bertram was having orgasms on the airwaves as there was a "survey" or something about how unpopular John Farrell was.. and he went on and on and on and on. Somehow he mixed John Henry into this conversation and went on some more.

It has gotten progressively sillier.. appealing to the lowest possible denominator.

Reading this article makes my blood boil. Maybe because I live in NY now I'm desensitized to media making themselves the story rather than the players/coaches, but it doesn't make it any less infuriating.

That Dave Brown from the Concord is a twit, and it's no wonder people rarely read his toilet paper that he calls a newspaper.

And then for MCI to come right out and say "you can't let him win, we have a job to do"...WHAT IN THE HOLY **** IS THAT??!! This isn't warfare or a boxing match for Chrissakes, this is football. Maybe if you "DID YOUR JOB" with more humility and respect, people will respect you back, and then read you.

It's three tiers of media.

Team sites, fan sites/forums (like ours), and Twitter

The Reiss's, Chris Price's and Howe's of the world who actually ENJOY the team and the sport in which they cover without trolling the fan base or thinking they can get one over on the coach or that they know more than he does.

And the MCI's, CHB's, Borges's, Young's and Giardi's of the world, who are just about done, because the fans and Twitter are taking over their lost medium of print.

I would be very disappointed if the Pats didn't manipulate the media for the team's benefit. The mediots are low hanging fruit. I bet it's fun to play with them.

I didn't necessarily disagree with anything you wrote. I just found it appalling that she would take such offense for being called out (correctly) by BB.

She was wrong, he said she was wrong. Yet in the article, she complains about the whole episode, as if she had been unfairly treated.

She was wrong! Just shut the **** up and be wrong. She shouldn't cry to others about how she wasn't treated nicely when she was spreading incorrect gossip. She couldn't just stand there and be wrong and quit trying to blame others for her own ****-ups.

Then, we are in agreement! She wasn't my favorite by any means and she was really wrong on the Dobson thing, but there are far larger jackasses in the local media than her.
