and the sky is usually blue

There definitely will be increases in talent this off-season. Does anyone doubt that?

Only because the “talent” can’t possibly be any worse than it already is, “thanks” to the children upstairs… who are still there, BTW…

ROFL

It is obvious to everyone but you that having a #4 pick, a 2nd and 2 3rds will get players that will be better than the bottom of our roster.

It is obvious to everyone but you that even spending say $70M will get players better than the bottom of our roster.

So, yes a #4 pick, a second, 2 3rds and $70M will produce improvement in the talent of the roster OF ANY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE.

I guess you are referring to Jon, Wolf and Groh. Here is what I think is happening...

1. Groh will help Wolf with contracts and other menial tasks. He won't have any say in the draft or FA's.
2. Wolf will have a say in the draft and FA's but will be overruled by Vrabel...that's by design.
3. Jon; I prefer he takes more of a leadership role then Bob. In fact I hope Bob retires.

Highsmith and Cowden will have a similar say in personnel like Wolf but will be overruled by Vrabel when needed.

We have one question to answer

Will Vrabel's decisions plus $100M produce better talent that last year's additions?

If they don’t make some moves to improve the talent, it doesn’t really matter who the DC is. Just gonna be a fall guy.
Very true.. at the very least this current defense when healthy is a far better unit then what they showed last season.. as we all know we need pass rushers.. 3 down rushers.. I think its pretty obvious for an offense when a defense only puts guys in on 3rd down.. we need 3 down players.. guys that an OC has to worry about each snap.

It's a coaching bush.
More like a Sapling

Caveat. If that precious capital is spent wisely. If you draft the N'Keal Harrys and Cole Stranges of the world then sign the Juju schuster-smiths even those great picks and big wads of cash will turn into turds instead of improvement.

There is so much resources available that even last year's staff would be able to find major improvements, even if we hit on only half the signees.
=======
Whine about juju if you wish. We acquired also, Bourne, Agholor and Smith. The issue was the coaching.

Agholor - terrible waste of 26m dollars.
Bourne - has had ONE good season and THREE pretty poor ones for production.
Smith - complete waste of money and later released. we could have just resigned Jakobi Meyers instead for that money.

It's not just bad coaching it was terrible roster decisions by the GM at the time.
Until the decision-making improves any amount of resources can be wasted.
BB's big free agent spree in 2021 yielded Judon as the biggest get and wasted all the rest of that huge money available to improve the team.

Those culmination of thing's are why we ended up with the 3rd and 4th overall picks last few seasons. We have stabilized the coaching now it's about the position coaches and roster respectively. Meyers I could definitely see him back here by way of trade he should have never been allowed to leave.. juju has done more on social media than he has in the NFL last 2 seasons.

Agreed. The team as a whole has already been upgraded adding at HC, OC& DC.. it was embarrassing last season on offense and defense.
Addition by subtraction should not be discounted as a reason for optimism next year. Since JMD left for the Raiders the team has been undermined by cliques and various examples of dysfunction in the coaching staff and front office, with ownership contributing to the chaos. Purging the majority of holdovers and stablishing Vrabel as the experienced lead voice that commands the respect of the team, without specter of a coach in waiting and with a real cohesive set of assistants will have a major impact on the team. On the player side having a legitimate QB and the opportunity to upgrade the roster creates the opportunity for a real, lasting return to competitive football.

Yes! Also go figure outside of brady McDaniels hasn't had a QB with drakes abilities. McDaniels will demand the players be accountable, be in position, execute the game plan. This current setp is for the longhaul. Williams at DC is Vrabel's Romeo crennel a DC. That's what a Terrell Williams defense is.. an aggressive defense that relentlessly attacks the QB and puts pressure on OTs.
