DRAFT PROSPECTS: FRED ROBBINS DT — Here’s an in-depth look at some of the Defensive lineman who may be scouted by the Patriots for the upcoming 2000 NFL Draft to be held on April 15th and 16th in New York.

Name: Fred Robbins – # 90
Position: Defensive tackle
Height: 6′ 5″
Weight: 302
College: Wake Forest
High School: Gonzalez HS
Class Year: SR
Hometown: Pensacola, FL
DOB: 03/25/1977

Kerry McComb’s take on Fred Robbins –

Excellent physical size. Very intense player who combines excellent power with surprsing quickness for such a large man. Ran an impressive 4.81 time recently at the combines in Indy so this kid can motor. Excellent explosiveness allows him to get good penetration. Has above average lateral and 360 agility combined with excellent balance. Good knee bender and does an excellent job of using his hands and arms to shed and stand up potential blockers. Ideally projects as a 2 gap 4-3 DT but he should be quick and agile enough to play a 1 gap 4-3 and quite possibly strongside DE in a 3-4. Best Demon Deacon since Michael McCrary. Sleeper guy who, if he is able to put it altogether could be the best DL taken in this draft.
