Would you be in favor of adding Tebow to the Pats

Tebow was NEVER going to be the 27th pick in the draft, nor is there a need he can fulfill in this offense in 2012

I'm astounded that this thread has over 200 posts and has lasted this long. Isn't that what mods are for. Please close/move or otherwise end the misery of this tread.(or at least my misery )

I would love to be a fly on the wall when McDaniels first asks BB - "uh so, did you have any real interest in drafting Tebow or were you just screwing with me??"

Agreed. I'm just surprised that more fans and mediots haven't picked up on the timing of that trade that day. It was very reasonable to assume that Tebow would have fallen to 43, where the Broncos could have taken him without a trade.

This might be another one where we'll just have to wait for BB's memoir.

6'3" 245 lb players that have never played RB and run a 4.72 40 have no chance of making it in the NFL at RB.

Tebow has essentially functioned as a RB for much of his career. While I think he'd be great as a RB/FB/TE the big question is whether he'd even be interested in such a role. He wants to play QB.

These guys are doing BSPN's job for them

Fans always have that tendency to want to project what a scrambling QB could be as a RB, when the likely response is retired soon.

For all of you who don't want Tebow, take a knee and beg for his forgiveness and blessings.

So sayeth Skip Bayless.

If there is interest in a thread (and there have been a numer of posters posting in this one) it shouldn't be closed because others aren't interested in it. You can just choose to not read.
It is on topic and there is interest.
Removing threads that you don't want to read is not what mods are for.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks BB could really use him well...Be it a goalline back, blocking tightend, backup QB, trick plays with Brady and Tebow.

I feel like that would be worth a 7th-6th round pick over some random scrub who plays with the second unit for a few months than gets cut.

First off, we don't have a 6th or 7th round pick and there are lots of things we might luck into if we create those who are not signed to first round contracts. I heard someone on the radio this AM saying that his salaries (which he was reporting as higher than what his base rookie contract called for - more like several million remaining) were all guaranteed going forward. He had $23M in potential incentives and escalators in that 5/$9-11.5M (depending on spin) deal. So there is that to consider plus the value of a roster spot... Sometimes as we churn the roster early on and make situational moves down the stretch due to injuries we end up risking or losing guys we'd have liked to keep because the tradeoff was we didn't want to cut some other guy we invested silly money in...

I think this entire thread will be a non-issue, if Petyon chooses Tennesse or SanFrancisco...

Best way to end your misery is to stop reading the thread.

The thread topic is legitimate, the posts have been polite and the discussion has been relevant to the topic (when one HC who worked for and knows another HC very well jumps 18 slots in the draft to take a player two slots ahead of that other HC and when there were no teams drafting in the intervening slots who had expressed an interest in that player, it's a fair comment). If you don't like it, go to another thread.

All good points... But it's not like McDaniels is showing any interest in bringing any of his former players back with him to New England, so I think it's safe to say this speculation is just pointless.

It's more important to save a roster spot for Ochocinco!

He could be a HB/FB type. A bruiser.

Watch Cinci overpay for BJGE.

He is too slow, and has never played RB. Would you rather have a RB at RB?
Not to mention he has to want to change positions.

I don't think anyone is giving starter money to BJGE

Ken, people want to talk about it, evidently.

I'm sorry it's causing you misery.

anyone posting on this thread ...needs to get back to reality and get thrashed with a tebow jersey....

cough, cough, cough.....

But in all seriousness, IF the Broncos win the Peyton Derby (get it Broncos, Debry), then they will move Tebow to the Jags. Maybe the Jags can send Gabbard to Miami. BUT still Tebow has no place in the Pats organization. I guess that beatdown by a very subpar Pats Defense, did not convicne enough people that once you have seen this Tebow offense, you can easily stop it.

Here's the common sense take on this....Tebow still wants to play QB...Jax. would employ him as a QB...and he would REALLY energize the fan base there and fill the stadium there. Tebow is NOT playing QB here in NE ...right? If he came here ...it would be as a TE or RB...or knowing BB...maybe linebacker! !. But that ain't happening ...so IF Manning goes to Denver...look for Tebow to Jax ..

I've said this all along: Jacksonville is really the only landing spot for a Tebow trade if Manning goes to Denver. There is no place at all for him in NE. The Pats already have three QB that they really like under contract. They now have 3 starting TEs. There's no way they acquire Tebow to be the #3 or #4 running back. Just no spot for him here.

Jacksonville cannot be satisfied with their current QB situation. Tebow would be just what the doctor ordered there. Think about it: they have a much better running back in MJD than Denver has. They also have a much better defense. And a ton of cap room. Make the trade, and then sign Early Doucet and Jerricho Cotchery, both solid WRs. That would give Tebow some receiving options, a great running game, and a very good defense. In other words, everything Denver had, but just to a better degree.
