I see.. I think what's at stake here is over the last 2 decades specifically ownership has built up alot of relationships with CBS,ect and others. If we go through another 3-14 season do fans stop for good? I'm open to change.. the next HC has to the the right guy or else we are no different than the other AFCE teams over the years. The next coach needs a 3 year guarantee at least. Bringing in a established ,innovative OC that can bring Drake to the next level. Also the GM is going to have to surround Drake with talent.

Yes.

They can get out of this Mayo situation with minimal damage long term setbacks.

Kraft's next hire (s) are huge and will impact the franchise for years...good or bad to come.

I think they’re afraid of losing the fans, they need to bring in someone exciting that gets the fans engaged.

It has to be either Vrabel or Ben Johnson.

If it’s Vrabel, I would be willing to bet he brings back Josh McDaniels. Josh won’t go anywhere for a long time and the Krafts know he is at least a B+ OC.

I like it. I just want the coach that is going to restore the winning culture, a coach who commands the room. Mike vrabel I just can't get out my head. I'd want him.. buy I'd want an experienced OC... vrabel could fix this defense.. he could bring in say Mike wilks or a veteran coach.

100 percent agree! Our stadium is in the middle of a blue collar, family oriented working class town. That matters alot to the Krafts. Vrabel just feels right to me. Kick Mayo upstairs and let Vrabel come in. The job is appealing.. excellent young QB, 100 plus million in cap space, 1st overall pick.

Just thinking what McDaniels could do with Drake, McMillan and Higgins.

No to McDaniels . His system is not wr friendly .
You think so? I just remember what he was able to do with Moss, welker. I would trust McDaniels to Maximize Drake and his potential.

You as, so do I have a right to an opinion. I said that based on the organization was starting anew with everyone and taking a QB.. so the thesis was about developing Drake and setting the foundation going forward. That was all .
If your opinion is true, why did Mayo guarantee they'd win more than 4 games prior to the season?

You haven't been to Foxboro in a minute, have you?

Another reason why Mayo's likely not going to be here next season.

Yes I have took my son a and nephew to TC.. has it moved from Foxborough since July 2024?? Maybe your thinking of the Boston patriots?

Team needs more than a new coach and GM. Not sure Kraft will invest in the operation as a whole. Can't run this team on a high school budget any longer.

For the people saying Mayos still learning. How many more years should the team waste so he can learn how to coach? The team wasted one already.
That's me. It's a moot point now though. I was pulling hard for him but it just didn't work out.

I was pulling for Mayo because he's an ex Patriot. And if Vrabel is the next in line I'll feel the same way. And if he struggles I'll be patient until they have actual players on the field, as I would have been with Mayo. In spite of the last half decade they're still way ahead to me.

Now the point becomes who's to blame for putting Mayo in a position he wasn't ready for? Should Mayo or Kraft have seen it coming?

Yes.

Both of them.

Additional years are dependent on improvement.

Mayo is going to be back. Kraft will look like a fool firing Mayo now after the way he built him up as the next great Pats HC.
I don't remember Kraft building him up as "the next great Pats HC."

Yes.

Both of them.
I agree on Kraft for sure but if I'm Mayo and got offered that job I would have accepted it too. He didn't know what he didn't know.

The thing that changes everything for me is how hard did Mayo lobby for the job. If the rumors of him backstabbing Bill from within are true then it's a whole new ballgame. I just don't know if the rumors are true or not.

Great points. Kraft said yesterday he put Mayo in a tough situation. Interestingly enough breer mentioned yesterday that things became contentious between the coaching staff and front office. Aside from how the team looked on the field there had to be some internal issues. I haven't seen a team with 4 wins that didn't have it. On Vrabel I'm 100 in on him. The Patriots culture needs a hard reset and Vrabel is just the guy IMO.
