Yeah its definitely a down year for takeaways and most of that is contributed to not getting after opposing teams QB's fast enough. To much time back there to survey the field and pick apart the Pats secondary.

My gut feeling is that this is going to go in their favor down the stretch. I really think they have played pretty vanilla this year and have more up their sleeve going forward.

The defense almost always improves over the stretch run and I haven't looked it up but I bet patriot takeaways increase a lot historically in nov and dec.

I agree. There's definitely a lot being held back scheme wise (off & def). Some due to injury, and not wanting to expose some of their "playoff tricks" too soon. However, if they clean up their situational play I feel like they could have something brewing.
