But I'll say this much--I'd much rather have Brady on the shelf this year if it'll prolong his overall career.

Brady talks all the time about how he grew up watching and idolizing Montana and Young when they played for the 49ers.

To be honest that is not what Young said. He said nothing about Brady getting back soon.

Anyway, I know as a Colts fan I am the enemy but I really just wanted to say that I'm sorry for the loss of Brady for the year. Should never happen to anyone let a lone a QB of his caliber. While I'm being selfish and stewing over the egg the Colts laid, I should keep in mind that I'm sure you people would rather have a 0-1 record than lose your QB. Good luck with the rest of the season everyone, hopefully the Pats can pull it off and get into the playoffs.

well yeah..i paraphrased...young actually told brady to get well soon etc etc and brady according to him was 'upbeat' and said they will get this surgery done and be back out there.

That's the best news I've heard since this happened. I'm not sure how much to read into it since Tom is such a positive thinker, but I'm going to choose to believe that if the doctors had told him anything horrible like he would never be able to play again (a la Robert Edwards) that even Tom wouldn't be upbeat. So thanks for sharing.
