I don't think WEEI is second any more, probably for the same reason I was forced onto WEEI today - couldn't stand to listen to squeeky Maz blathering about the Sawx when I knew it was Patriots Monday on the other channel.

Actually squeaky's on vacation, Sean McAdam filled in, if you enjoy sox talk he's one of the best, that's if you can tolerate Felger trying to drum up imaginary reasons why the sox have been under performing.
I found if I turn my radio dial I can hear music, its a wonderful thing somedays.

I believe you are correct and F & M came in behind eei last ratings period, people are getting tired of Mazz and Felgers tiresome schtick.

DeOssie and WEEI have perfected their defense. Accuse patsfans of being upset because DeOssie picked the Giants. That has nothing to do with it. Lots of local mediots do that. He basically stated he didn't like working here and it was a struggle to deal with that fate every day. He won't admit that now and WEEI won't acknowledge it. They are content to have you all call and rail while they patronize their core demographic for being overly sensitive fans.

Solid points all around. The abiding problem is that WE are the hardcore fan base that cares passionately about things like this, whereas most of the callers, generally, are in-season fans. I agree that not calling and not supporting them business-wise in any way is the only choice. It might not make the difference we'd like to see, but should help preserve one's sanity.

i agree with not calling to be on air but people should keep calling jason wolfe to remind him how we are getting used to 98.5 fm. and people should continue to send emails.

Sean's pipes simply bring a more dramatic flair to the incessant discussion of beer in the clubhouse on the road and why Lackey is traveling with the team and why his teamates love him while the media doesn't and whether Bobby V is victim or villain and Beckett's golf game and whether or not any of it matters as long as Lucchino remains the power behind the Henry "monster"...

The worst thing that could happen to 98.5 at this point would be these clowns somehow slithering into that new phony wildcard slot...prolonging Maz' lone squeaky man baseball reporters segment into October ratings period...

I agree on the non support idea. I did that with MLB and have enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the change.

Well baseball is a pastime not a sport, and time does pass, excruciatingly slowly, whilst watching, listening to chatter about, or anything in regards to baseball. I stay well away as well, save a Cape Cod league game here or there.

I'm a Patriots fan and he didn't insult me. I spent too many years being insulted by NYers and hating them back. Don't attempt to make it seem like I'm not seeing or understanding something. I see it perfectly.

WEEI decided to have him resurface yesterday.

People here have pointed out that NOW is the time to either complain to the program director who brought him back or start promoting their competitor more rigorously.

Your point is duly noted, but I can see why folks would like to keep this on the radar for the time being (as opposed to in April or May when DeOssie was on vacation somewhere trying to stay out of the sun).

I fought with Jason Wolf years ago over similarly idealistic principles. You know what he told me? Customers' opinions don't mean squat unless they are followed by a drop in the ratings.

I never bothered with Wolf again because the world is actually on a dollar basis, not a heart felt idealism basis. Write all the letters you want though. I'm sure those staffers will take it very seriously.

You need to punish them not plead with them.

My best advice to you First Responders is to gain a useful skill like hacking satellite feeds. I would actually take my hat off to you if you could make the feed disappear every time Deossie's face came on the screen. That might get their attention.
